Shams wouldn't have reported it if it wasn't real. Now he didn't say Charlotte was shopping LaMelo per se, but he did say they were engaging in talks with interested teams, so they certainly aren't hanging up the phone.

As for Stein's report, it makes perfect sense that Connelly would be in the hunt given our needs.

C'mon, you seriously think that a guy that built a title team and has been at this for quite a while is so insecure that he has to put himself in rumors as a way to curry favor with the fanbase?

Connelly is ALWAYS on the phone and talking to everyone. The Wolves' come up in literally every big-name trade and then usually something totally unexpected happens that no one reported.
