Yes, I'd do it! Four unprotected picks could be a franchise killer, but what the hell, you cannot kill what is already dead. And if any fan base is capable of tolerating a decade plus of futility it's the Wolve's fan base!

2 people not in the picture. Prince and ANT!!!!

Darren Wolfson: "Ant has some off-the-court stuff to square away this week, so won't be making it to Miami. He will be joining the team for workouts next week."

This is actually a compelling reason to deal those picks and then by the same logic...Acquiring Ben Simmons is gonna be the thing that transforms the franchise?

Let's look at a different angle of Simmons that hasn't been discussed too recently. What is Ben Simmons's like off the court? Does he have any attitude issues we should be concerned with at all? I'm not looking to make Ben Simmons a bad guy or a saint but regardless if the Wolves acquire him it's not going to come cheap everything should be considered.

Edit: I'm also asking because I really don't know.

Some may scoff at this, but it sets off a few warning signals in my head. What off-court stuff does he have to take care of that couldn't been taken care of last week? Maybe it's nothing, but I've been a student of elite athlete behavior for decades, and this sounds familiar to me. I'm on record that Ant is a unique talent, and the only thing that can stop him is Ant himself. I hope he doesn't let it.

In other news, ARod's house in Maimi looks just like mine...

I wouldn't be too worried about it. It is/was a voluntary team session organized by Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell down in Miami. It's basically like the NFL's version of Organized Team Activities, or more commonly known as OTA's. It's not mandatory and means little in the grand scheme of things. Tom Brady has skipped them before and he's arguably the GOAT in any sport. Does he not portray "elite athlete behavior?"

Remember when the Wolves went to the Bahamas and then won 19 games that year? Same thing.

I'd also bet that whatever Anthony Edwards has to take care of is probably important or else he'd be there. He could be moving or doing some sort of brand deal for all we know.

Wow, FNG. I think you're reading way, way, way too much into this news about Ant "squaring away" some off-the-court stuff this week.

I'm assuming those four picks would be unprotected. Nevertheless, my answer is yes, I'd do that deal. My bottom line is keeping KAT, Ant, McDaniels and either DLO or Beasley. I also have a strong preference for keeping Beverley over Prince, I don't like giving up 4 unprotected picks, but that would be the price for Simmons unless we included DLO rather than Beasley in which case perhaps we could limit our outgoing picks to three with one of them lottery protected.
