Interesting article that really lays out the situation of the remaining FA espcially the RFA.

The Cavs are in serious conversations with Derrick Rose. That could make sense the Cavs have a bunch of shooting and Rose while flawed can still play if healthy.

The Spurs signed Matt Costello to a 2-way deal. I know he isn't the greatest or whatever but I think he is a guy that could make it as a bench big. After listening to a podcast from the site 2ways10days and reading some of the info there deciding who you would want to sign as an NBA team and who as a player would want to sign there is somewhat complicated. I can see plenty of reasons why the Wolves haven't made a move there. I'm wondering if John Lucas III is going to be a part of their G-league coaching staff after seeing him on the sidelines at summer league.

Also Rondo to the Pels for a little over 3 million to play with Jrue. Not a bad move he probably makes as much sense as anyone left for that price. They don't have much when it comes to wing players I guess it's Solomon Hill as their starter at SF.

I think Noel is gonna have a harsh reality in a few months. Is J. Green going to sign a qualifying offer too? This offseason just keeps staying interesting.

Nerlens Noel clearly betting on himself with acceptance of $4.1M QO. He turned down 4-year, $70M Mavs offer made on July 1, sources say.

Nerlens Noel declined 4/$70M. After accepting $4M QO, needs $66M over next 3 just to make it up. Most can possibly get over same 4 is ~$90M.

So apparently he has already seen the harsh reality. That 4/70 was offered July 1 he countered with demanding a max and at some point the 4/70 was pulled and I guess he had nothing. Man that 4/70 money was a really good offer. I would be curious whether his agent advised him to take it or not.

This is an example of why the next couple of year some guys need to take the offers that come their way. Heck if Patrick Patterson waited he may have been looking at even less money than he got. It's an example of why Bazz should seriously consider coming back to the Wolves this year in hopes they will pay him or facilitate someone else doing so. There will be even less money going around next year. Get what you can when you can get it. It will be interesting to see how RFA of J. Green, Mirotic, Plumblee and even Alex Len play out. We are 5 weeks from the preseason folks the deadlines for figuring something out for these and other FAs is starting to come into focus.
