It's remarkable that threads develop into this repetitive, unprovoked nonsense even after a solid performance from most of the roster tonight. Some of you just like to bitch because it fits your agenda. You can't even enjoy the game.

Anyways, Minnesota's won five of their last six games. They currently own the eighth-seed in the Western Conference and sit 1.0 game behind the sixth-seed -- and 3.0 games behind the fourth-seed -- even after all of their hiccups.

More good news. The Timberwolves are now 11-11 since Karl-Anthony Towns was sidelined due to injury. They're keeping the ship afloat without arguably their best player.

Furthermore, Minnesota's most-used lineup over this stretch, which has also been their de facto starting lineup, has been excellent. The five-man unit of D'Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Kyle Anderson, and Rudy Gobert has posted a 115.8 Offensive Rating, 103.8 Defensive Rating, and a +12.0 Net Rating in 151 minutes together. Among all five-man lineups in the NBA that have logged 150 minutes or more together, that lineup for Minnesota ranks fourth overall in Net Rating.

Cam- Gobert had 5 turnovers and 5 fouls!! :) Actually, I'm not really bitching about that. It was a terrific win and all five starters along with Prince off the bench contributed significantly to the win. In the end, it's about winning games and that's a team thing. The Wolves let down against the Pistons and that shouldn't happen. But this win might be a sign that this team has indeed turned the corner.

It was a pro win. Not clean, it got a little sloppy. But they beat a team that shot over 60% from 3

TP is a really nice glue guy he really helps hold things together one of my more favorite players on this team. Glad they could bounce back tonight, tomorrow back to back vs the return of Rubio & K. Love. Gonna be a hard one to win tomorrow but maybe we can pull it off to make up for that DET loss.

Prince's consistently good 3-point shooting and scoring off the bench has been absolutely huge for us since he came back from injury. We've needed his pop off the bench with Nowell struggling so much.

The problem with getting sloppy at the end and not just blowing the doors off the game is that they had to play their starters quite a few minutes. That won't help tonight against a healthy Cleveland team.

I'll play the pessimist this time....

We lose to bottom-dwelling Detroit twice. We have to claw our way back from a 20-point deficit to Houston. We can't quite close out an injury-decimated Suns team and rest our starters on the first night of a back to back.

Despite winning 5 of 6, I don't believe a corner has been turned. We aren't a team that is detail-oriented and clinical enough to be taken seriously in the West.

I say all of this without pointing the finger at one player or coach or front office move. Last year was somewhat similar when we played Memphis in the playoffs and couldn't hold big leads, just self-destructing our way to losses.

I'll play the optimist this time...

Nowell has slipped to 9th in the rotation, so he only played 12 minutes tonight... that means he'll be ready for big minutes vs. Cleveland tonight!

Oh, wait... I don't think I did this right.

Didn't watch this one and I would have liked to seen us blow out a depleted Suns team, it's nice to see us win games we are supposed to win despite injuries of our own...um, except when we play the Pistons. Box score review tells me almost everyone except Rudy had a pretty good game...didn't like his 5 TOs and only one shot though.

I note the debate in the GDT about whether Russell played decent defense or not, and I can't weigh in having not seen the game. But I suspect that his post team-meeting defensive awakening might have had a shelf life of only two games. We simply can't give up 116 points and 61% 3-point shooting to a team forced to play Josh Okogie 20 minutes. And when I see that a journeyman like Damien Lee made 6 out of 7 threes, I see in my mind Jaylen Nowell and DLo not rotating and giving up wide open looks. But maybe someone who watched the game closely can tell me how this G League Suns team made 14 out of 23 3-point shots? Who were the main culprits on defense?

On the more positive side, I love Jaden's line...14-5-6 with a steal and a block. And Ant with another impressive offensive game despite the sore hip. It's nice to know we're likely to have these two guys in their early 20s around for awhile.

"Obviously, it was all Russell's fault."

... unless, "Obviously, Russell played great and should never be blamed for anything. It's not nice."
