About 24 years of experience culminated into the moment when Beasley raised the gun. About the same for parading in front of paparazzi with his new squeeze. About 22 years went into fighting in a hotel lobby over a woman.
One month of punishment... "improved" him. Meh.
As with everything else with this organization... from Glen Taylor to Rosas to Finch to Towns to Beasley to McDaniels... show me. Don't tell me.
Especially while he was suspended he did a photoshoot of him wearing a shirt that says I shoot to kill with a gun on it.
All the negative comments here about Beasley are well-deserved, and frankly more in line with what my view would typically be in situations like this. I don't know why I'm more willing to give Malik a pass on this one more than other situations. I hope nothing like this ever happens again with Beasley, and I guess my point is I don't think it ever will. Conversely, I suspect a guy like Miguel Sano has not had his last bad off-field experience. We'll have to see, and in no way does future good behavior excuse what Malik did...it just makes it a little easier for me to cheer for him.

If I'm being honest, there are probably very few guys who I'd enjoy hanging out with in real life. I'd probably try to avoid a significant percentage of them... as they would avoid me. We're in very different demographic circles in many different ways (income/age/education/family/culture/et al).
But fortunately, I've been able to separate on/off court stuff fairly well with athletes. Probably helps that I'm cynical about all of them...
Don't laugh Jester, but I like reading people's eyes. I can tell a lot by simply looking straight into the eyes of an individual. I've never met Malik, but the closeups you get of him show a pair of eyes with a certain amount of evil behind them. Not Charlie Manson type evil, but there is something there. With everyone walking around in masks these days, reading eyes is about all you can do most of the time. So we've all gotten a lot of practice at it. I think I'd be a little more guarded in front of Beasley than someone like DLO. I realize this is a random post, and I'm not sure about hitting the button. But if you're reading it you know what I decided.

I wonder what Cool would think of me and my pretty eyes...

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say your eyes are somewhere between Manson's and OJ's on the cover of Time.

That's interesting, Cool...I'll take a closer look at Malik's eyes to see if I get the same impression. I've always considered myself a good judge of character too, although I'm quite disappointed when my initial impression turns out to be faulty. And then there are some people (see below who even miss the obvious signs ;-) .

I agree with that analysis. He's got some anger in him most of the time. Which is fine if he can keep it on the court and use it to fuel his abilities. I'd rather have the angry dude with the evil eyes then the nice guy with a nice smile. Just from a viewpoint of who will play hard and give max effort.
The nice smiley guy who is content (Wiggins) won't play his ass off to win every night.

But as we found out... TIME was not above altering those covers.
Besides, my steely, dead-eyed, peering stare proves my innocence!
