And he does come with his share of supporters around the league. I'm optimistic he pans out.
But what's the deal with Nowell? I know many were optimistic from his college days. And he's done well in the G League. And he's only 102 NBA minutes.
But... yikes. He's looked awful whenever I see him. The guy is struggling to make layups or even catch passes.
I don't know, because he's been incredibly effective and consistent in the G League. That obviously doesn't automatically translate to NBA success of course, but he doesn't have any glaring defect (like lack of size or athleticism) that would clearly hinder him at the next level where everyone is bigger and faster.
When you look at the numbers in college and G-League, the guy has proven he can make shots, pass the ball, and rebound his position. I think he'd need a month or two of steady minutes honestly and he'd be fine. The question is whether his ceiling is Wayne Ellington or last year's version of Malik Beasley, which was a really nice starting-caliber SG.

My grade is incomplete.
He needs to get Booker and Al Horford on this team. That would get him an A+ from Towns.

Rosas wasn't afraid to make some moves. Moves needed to me made. Will they work out? Only time will tell but this is more worthwhile than doing nothing.
Zach Lowe has Bobby Marks talking about various moves. Lowe thought the Russell Wiggins trade might be bad for both teams. He asked Marks if there was a player in these deals that he liked and Marks quickly said Vaderbuilt. Lowe said he liked KBD if he can hit 3's.
I was thinking a bit about Beasely. He isn't a guy that's going to drive a ton or set guys up. He is basically more of a Klay Thompson type guy...obviously not suggesting he will be that good on either end of the court but if you can get a versatile and athletic shooter that also seems to actually care about playing defense that's pretty valuable. He doesn't have quick feet but he doesn't look too slow to be a positive on that end. He sounds like a good dude maybe he has the personality to be a leader on this team. You don't have to be one of the best players on the team to lead. This is just throwing this quick take out there a bit.

I think this is an interesting comparison
