Jaden is being tasked with guarding the best players in the league night after night, and he is more than holding his own. Randle got some numbers tonight but every shot was contested and he made him work extremely hard. When you consider Jaden's age and then also see him contribute offensively, you're left wondering if we really have something here.

McDaniels is looking better every game. Ant showed up big time. His defense was better, he was more engaged, and we do not win without him. The team defense improved as the game went on. Fun game to watch, even after falling behind 18 in the 2nd when the Wolves couldn't buy a bucket.

Dane Moore's Twitter:

Malik Beasley: "It starts with me and him"

Anthony Edwards: "Yeah, it start with us. But we gotta do a better job of getting each other ready. In warmups I feel like we be bullshittin, missing layups, not going full speed"

So no more bullshittin?

Ant: "Yeah. No more bullshittin"

Finch on McDaniels: "I can't remember a 19-year-old defender coming in and having this type of impact."

Finch on KAT: "He keeps getting penalized for offensive fouls, meanwhile he's wrestled for position." Clearly thinks he should be getting more calls.

I enjoy the hype/praise from the new head coach and his comment made me think about other very good and very young defenders. I remember 19-year old Jarrett Allen was good back in 2017 and 20-year old Mitchell Robinson being really good defensively a couple seasons ago. It's usually tough for these young kids because there's a steep learning curve. Well, I think these three in particular came into the league with a good understanding of how to play basketball. Making the right rotations, playing under/over screens, when to help versus when to stay at home, etc. Not to mention learning different schemes and how their respective teams want to implement them. These nuances usually force teenagers to re-learn the game as they know it. That hasn't been the case for McDaniels it appears.

The last week and a half the thing I've liked is he is expanding his offensive game just a little bit. I've voiced my concern during his shooting slump that he is having a little Okogie in him but its nice he is breaking out of the slump
