So Cov for Sekou Doumbouya, a top 3 protected 1st round pick and Rose (or Galloway based on if you want a 6th man in Rose or an expiring in Galloway.)
Wolves a lotto pick from this year in Sekou Doumboya is averaging 16.5 pts 5.2 Rebs and 1.4 asts on 38% from 3 (5.2 attempts per game) in the G League and he was suppose to be super raw and has shown flashes in the Gleague. Add a more than likely late lotto pick that can be traded in the future or can obtain another lotto rookie in this upcoming draft. I added Drose to make salary work, who has not been happy with his role in Det. He would be our sixth man again and another shot creator that the Wolves desperately needs. Or instead of Rose you could add Galloway who is on a expiring deal.
Just a thought, I just know that the pistons want to make the playoffs and you would get 2 young players that could boom and a possible solid role player for now in Rose or Galloway.
Love this idea, but I think we'd have to lower the protection a bit to top 10 or lottery.
The irony about Porter Jr, is that the Wolves could have drafted Porter ahead of Okogie had they lost that last game to Denver. I was 100% in favor of losing to Denver too just to get rid of Thibs as soon as possible.

Playoff berth or the draft rights to a player who hasn't shown much of anything yet at the NBA or NCAA level? Hmm, that's tough. I think I'll take post-season basketball for the first time in over a decade. Come on.
I see the Brooklyn Nets as an ideal trade partner. They are already in luxury tax territory with contracts next year after signing Irving and Durant this off season then extending LeVert (3 years 52 mil) and Prince (2 years 25 mil). Add to that Dinwiddle (11 mil) and Jordans (10 mil) contracts and that's a lot of salary on the books. I'm sure their billionaire Russian owner won't mind paying a bit of lux with their championship aspirations, but they will still need to round out their roster with decent role players. It appears they aren't too bothered about competing this year and their 1st round 2020 pick will likely falll in the 12 - 20 range. However you are never going to fleece their GM Sean Marks. He's built that franchise back up out of the rubble.
Option A:
Robert Covington & Treveon Graham for Caris LeVert (believe it works salary wise with PPP)
Option B:
Robert Covington for Spencer Dinwindle and two future 2nd round picks
Option C:
Robert Covington for Taurean Prince and 1st round pick (2020 - top 10 protected)
Out of the three I would prefer Option A as believe Caris LeVert is a very good all round player who has resigned on a decent contract. Doesn't really have any weakness and can play 1 through to 3. This would probably be the most realistic as it would cut 7 mil off the Nets salary for next season when LeVerts new contract kicks in.
Option B would be a gamble as Dinwiddle could walk after next season, hence why I would ask for two seconds just in case. Even then I would be cautious.
Some good thoughts there Kiwi. I think LeVert looks great on paper in terms of a fit for the Wolves. The problem is he's hurt too damn much.
Dinwiddie is the one trade idea I've seen where I feel like we'd be getting equal or better value to Covington. It has risks for sure, but he could lock up starting PG and has some nice size too.
BTW, Covington has been a HUGE part of the improved defense these last 8 games. I continue to point the finger at KAT, Wiggins, and Teague - probably in that order - when I look at how our defense went down the toilet in the few weeks leading up to KAT's injury.

You completely ignored my desire to see the stench of Thibs gone. That was 99.9% of the reason to lose,

The problem is that Brooklyn is basically treating this as a free year before Durant is healthy. There's not a chance in hell they deal away Dinwiddie as long as Kyrie's health is a question mark. They're basically entrusting Taurean Prince to have the role RoCo has for us.
KiwiMatt wrote:76ers have inquired about RoCo. What sort of deal could you see happening?
Robert Covington and Treveon Graham for Matisse Thybulle, Zhaire Smith and Mike Scott?
I dig Thybulle a lot... especially if him making three pointers is legit...
He's at 31 - 67 on the season... which is shocking considering the knock on him coming into the league. Granted, most of those are probably WIDE OPEN looks where he's being dared to shoot.
Is he the next Covington? Thabo Sefolosha? Andre Roberson? Or something better?
Whatever the case... it's a step back right away, even with his defensive talent. Mike Scott and Zhaire Smith do nothing for me. Anything else?
