I'm sorry, but no basketball players on earth other than NBA guys like Harden and Doncic stick their arms out straight ahead while driving to the hoop and then drive their arms into a defender, only to then pull them back to try to get the "and-one" shot off. It should simply be a non-call or if really egregious, an offensive foul.
Its a hard call because Doncic and Harden are ahead of the defenders athletically. Although its annoying I think the defenders have to adjust. Good players have been initiating contact in the NBA forever, this is the next evolution with players that are extremely skilled.
I know, but the officials need to have some discretion and there are some obvious unnatural shot motions by those guys that should be non-calls, even if there is contact. It needs to be one of those "points of emphasis" deals that the NBA sends out to coaches and players ahead of a new season.
Yeah i know. But the point of emphasis is never going to go against the star offensive players. Why would NBA want to curve the high averages? It hasnt been natural in over 30 years. I dont know why theyd start now.
