The only way the Russell deal happens though is giving up our first round pick and given how big of a team downgrade we just made that's looking like potentially the number 1 overall pick.
Yeah I wouldnt be thrilled about it, but who knows. Im not that down on this deal. Covington was off this year and likely trending in the wrong direction as I see it. We got to stack a few young assets and save some money.
Maybe. But it's important to judge Beasley as a $7M or $10M (or even more?) player. Because he's a restricted free agent. Who cares about this season. It's already lost.
I like the deal we could potentially get Beasley on.
I have no idea what that would be beyond my guesses above. Do you?
How much are you willing to pay for a guy who's playing worse than a replacement level player even on a very good team? A guy with only one season out of four that hasn't been below average?
He was good in this season that he actually got minutes.
To me he's exactly the kind of player they should be targeting. Under utilized guards with upside

Typically a player almost universally regressing in year 4 on a good team is not a good sign right? I'm with Abe. Don't really see the value there at all.
I know contract years strike both ways... but the guy certainly had motivation to play well for chrissakes.
A Wolves Cursed Chronicle possibility?
Beasley rebuilds his value in MN for a tanking team so then we can overpay him this summer... instead of simply letting him sit on the bench in DEN and getting him for a lot less this summer. Obviously, DEN wasn't interested in matching any offers.

Yea I agree with Dribbler. Beasley was stuck behind some quality players. Hard to read into his stats with the lack of quality minutes.

Lol kind of a pessimist huh?:)
Maybe.
But the Wolves no longer get my blind optimism.
Why should they?
[Note: I'm not saying that's going to happen... only that it would make for good Wolves lore if it does.]
Why deal roco though if you are not blown away by a trade? This is not blown away. This eeks of desperation to make a deal just to make a deal. Dislike a lot.

I can get behind this. Cov was on a great deal. But hopefully changing the furniture changes the chemistry
I hope we dont do any russel deal
after this. We wont go anywhere with towns/russel this season or beyond with less draft assets (used to get dlo). Mighy as well go on with towns/wiggins and the rest. Play wig as the point and built his value up. give him and towns all the shots.
I can guarantee that dlo balue will only go down after the trade deadline. Steph and klay are coming back and dlo is heading to the bench as a max guy. The point guard heavy draft will be coming up and draft picks value are at its peak before draft day. Warriors aint going to have a bottom team like the current wolves give up unprotected first for dlo. Hold onto wig and keep building up his value. We can revisit the dlo deal in the off season where his value would be lower.
