Name the last big impact FA that left his team for a place like MN.

Our reality is to overpay for a Millsap/ibaka type or create it all.

I prefer 2-3 players for 25-30+ mil instead of 1 player.

Less risk/higher chance of a reward..

Though I doubt it would change history that much the Wolves historically have rarely ever been in a position to offer a max in the first place

I'm not sure if either method will ultimately be the right answer. We could spend 25 mil on 2 players and end up with Solomon Hill and Austin Rivers. Our value signings didn't exactly contribute either this year. I'm interested to see what method we end up taking be it one big signing, multiple mid levels, or possibly trading for a player like Favors if Utah needs to the money to keep everyone else.

Favors is an interesting one.

1. His value was super high pretty recently and many thought there was room for growth.
2. It's lower primarily because of a short(er) term injury... and a team need to deal with salary cap issues.
3. He was considered solid to good defensively.

I don't know if I like him enough because... as noted in another thread... I want more spacing, not less. And that was the knock in Utah that Favors doesn't extend his range much... and whether he and KAT can play faster, smaller guys on the perimeter.

So is there another guy out there who will still cost a lot... but still has lower value for whatever reason right now... that is a better fit for this team?

[Note: Other recent "buy low" guys I can think of are Nurkic and I. Thomas a couple years ago. Or at least... those were two that panned out.]

Hold on let me go look at the Kings roster for a guard...what about Langston Galloway? I always thought the guy looked like he could play. He has a player option for 5.5 million but if he thought he could get a longer term deal for about the same money he MIGHT opt out. I'm not suggesting he is the next Thomas or Nurkic or even Seth Curry but the Wolves could use a combo guard that is a volume 3 point shooter and a couple articles I read say he actually plays defense. I Remember one game the Wolves were playing the Kings and Jim Pete was like why isn't Langston Galloway not playing on this team?

Probably Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell. They instantly took us to a WCF so I'd say they had a big impact. We aren't in the same place that team was from a contending standpoint, but I don't think we are that far off either.

They were both acquired in a trade.

AK47 was probably our biggest FA, and we had to shower him with money

Remember when he took a lot less money to run away?

Man, I loved AK47. I would argue he was the best player on the team during his short stint with the Wolves. With Love hurt that year, here were the 5 guys that played the most minutes:

Luke Ridnour
AK47
Derrick Wiliams
Dante Cunningham
Nikola Pekovic

That team won 31 games, which of course wasn't great, but look at that list of names again.....Hard to believe that team won as many games as this year's squad!
