1. Hack-a-Whiteside with 4 ½ minutes left and up by two (as opposed to playing the hack-a-game when down and trying to get back in the game)

2. Shutting Dragic down. He went 1 for 6 in the second half with just 2 assists and 2 turnovers. He was a force during the first half and gone in the second :)

Good job by Sam

They mentioned during the game that Dragic was dealing with family stuff (wife and baby overseas) for the past couple of months. But, he's having a rough season. He just doesn't seem to be the difference maker he should be (or you'd think he'd be... especially with a shiny new $86M deal).

He was GREAT at the start of the game. And I thought he played well in the 1st game too. But he disappears for such long stretches.

I like to think that our chirping was more reactionary, and not instigative. And I guess that makes me feel better. :thumb:

Nice job Cool.

I actually like the chippiness that Payne is providing, mainly because we lack it from most of the guys. It's something that I thought guys like Jeff Adrien and Steimsma brought to our team.

One thing I didn't like, and seems to be becoming a constant over the last two weeks is the poor officiating. I am not seeing any respect being given to a team that is attacking the basket. Am I the only one to see Rubio's layup go off the bottom corner of the backboard before Whiteside swatted it back off the glass early in the third quarter? The body contact Wiggins was taking was ridiculous, but then Deng is put on the line for another shoulder rub.

It isn't just the wolves. I watched Toronto get screwed the same way against GS last night. Green is apparently allowed to foul at will while on defense, without so much as a call. He must have fouled Derozan and Lowry on drives last night a dozen times.

I watched a bit of that Toronto vs. GSW game. It's a reputation league... has been for as long as I've watched it.

Those damn Lakers got the calls. Jordan got the calls. Shaq. James. Curry. Et al. It's a player's league and it's built a HUGE brand from marketing itself that way.

There was A LOT of contact on multiple drives late in that game. And it's unfortunate the game was decided by Iguodala holding onto Lowry's arm specifically to draw that call. But it's the NBA... everybody will forget about that stuff and simply move on.

Back to the Wolves... as a young team... get used to more of it. The players and organization don't have the clout to be much more than fodder at this point. BUT... with two possible star players on the team, there's hope that in a few years, the Wolves are the beneficiaries of questionable officiating more often than not.

I understand Wade getting calls, which is why I didn't mention him throwing Wiggins to the floor two minutes in on the steal, but Whiteside shouldn't have any clout with the officials, nor should Draymond Green. Lowry should have some clout though, considering he has been a difference maker in this league. There just isn't any consistency in the way they call these games. They need to have some type of a points system for referees.

I'll say this though Whiteside was making guys look silly out there with some of his blocks. When you have a guy throwing jump shots into the stands he is gonna get the benefit of the doubt on a few calls when he was playing the way he was.

One other random thought from watching the game last night: Wiggins and Lebron together for the next 4-5 years before Lebron starts to decline would have been scary on both ends of the court. We all know Kevin Love is no slouch, but if Cleveland doesn't win the title this year, I think that trade will officially look like a huge mistake. I still don't blame them for the trade and feel it was right at the time, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Thank God Lebron and Love found each other though, because we snatched up Wiggs and he's already looking awesome at 20. I do not miss Kevin Love at all.

Already we have seen less arms in the air after missed calls and walking back to play D.

From what I saw he had about 5 blocks, 2 uncalled goal-tends, 2 uncalled fouls and a phantom extra block. That isn't the benefit of the doubt, that is biased officiating.

If these players are so good, why do we feel the need to cheat to get them wins?

This is one of many things I didn't like. I feel bad for Garnett on this one but at least he got back up.
