The normal-sized civilian should have acted like he was trying to score a bucket... Jahlil would have left him alone then.

I tried to find a clip of Zach LaVine laughing but, nothing.

And here comes the lawsuit for being "hurt and embarrassed". Looks like big mouth is set up for a big pay day. So much for consequences:

Ugh. TMZ always makes me shudder a bit because they appeal to the lowest common denominator in all of us (and yeah, I watched it, dammit). TMZ and the Kardashians, yay!
Who knows who provoked who here, as Okafor was obviously drunk as hell and my guess is the other guy was too.
The bigger problem is the total lack of judgment on Okafor's part - not for the fight - but for what preceded it. It was super late, he was out in public, and he was hammered. What could go wrong?

This is an old story many of you might be familiar with, but Khans will love this:http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1997-10-27/sports/9710270306_1_jorge-lugo-lugo-s-attorney-barkley-s-group

Yeah Q that's my issue here. It just seems like a bunch of idiots being dumb.
What was this whole thing about anything remotely significant? We don't know but it looks to me like something stupid. I highly doubt these guys know each other. It just looks like a drunk brawl with guys talking crap to each other.
Expections are high for these guys they have a lot of pressure but dammit a guy like Okafor has known for a long time he will have a fair amount of success. He has had a ton of resources many others don't have. It's an embarrassment he is involved is slump suff like this.
I do get where Khans is coming from. I do tend to try and give athletes a little benefit of the doubt because some stuff can go down and it isn't easy being the guys they are. The guy talking to Okafor is dumb too why mess with a giant of a human being that's clearly out of control? Khans talks about consequences for going over the line and his frustration with lack of consequences. Damn that's so true. The general consequences for a lot of this stuff doesn't really keep it in check. I don't really have an answer but it's a systemic societal problem imo.
Anywho thanks for the good conversation here on an interesting situation and topic.

One more note on this...
Are we entirely sure the random guy was the instigator. Aren't we assuming he was? Maybe Okafor shoved his girlfriend inside the bar. Maybe he said really mean things to the guy first. Maybe he threw ice at him. Maybe he ripped Dean Smith and the guy was an avid UNC fan. We don't know. That's the thing.
But we do know (via video) that Okafor escalated a war of worlds into a violent altercation that left a man injured.

True. All we really know is some random dude got Knocked the Fugg Out and they had to call the Amberlamps. But Okafor embarrassed himself and his team by being part of the spectacle. And now he's suspended for a couple games because of it.

Re: Somebody Call an Amber Lamps
i would actually wait for official investigation, guys who he fought a who will sue him said on police that Jah and his friend bothered their female friends before any heckling even started, i tend to believe that there has to be some reason behind why person would even start to heckle 7foot drunk guy face to face (at least with some sanity), and you should never throw the first punch anyway
btw. on other incident he tried to throw punch into car through open window to hit driver, front-passenger got out of car and pointed a gun on Jah, so it seems like the guy is completely out of control, not to mention that he does not know how to fight and if he walks into somebody, who has knowledge and experience his career might be over even without gun usage
