I think we'd have to get to the middle of the 1st to get Tyus, which might be somewhat tricky, but who knows.

Okay, now back to FA. After viewing what I saw last season at C/PF, I think it's time to take another look at Greg Oden :)

I actually agree with everything Volans says, however, the non-shooting defensive wing savant is a dying breed. Aminu, Mbah Moute, Tony Allen....There are a few out there but their inability to hit the open 3 makes things more difficult on their teams' offense on the other end. The ability to play D and then hit that catch-and-shoot corner 3 is such a great combination of skills.

A little late to this party but if you can sign Luc for somewhere around the league minimum or under 2 million he is a bargain. I don't think he will land here but he would be a nice player to have around for some team especially if he comes cheap.

Bennett is working out and changing his shot mechanics. Q I am curious what you think of that. Personally his shot isn't the problem it's his brain and lack of doing much of anything else consistently. It's good to see he isn't just sitting around but I just can't get excited either. Maybe I am officially jaded. lol

I don't see how one young PF doesn't get moved at some point. Bennett is my guess it may be a trade of your problem for my problem type trade where we get something that fits better idk. If the Wolves do sign NB then one of those young guys seems gone. Either way there are not a lot of roster spots available really to add FAs that mostly fine because this team isn't in compete mode right now it's developmental mode and they have plenty of guys to see what they can get out of them. I am curious as to what Flip feels about NB as a player. The draft is going to be a consideration as to what happens no doubt.

The only chance we have with Bennett is stability this off season. He was hurt his first off season and traded during his second. That is crucial time for young players to develop and learn the systems they are going to play in. This off season is make or break for him. If he doesn't show significant improvement by October he's going to have his option declined and he can come off the books as a free agent. I think you make the early push to see if Bennett works this year and let AP take more of a backseat because Bennett can become an expiring this year while AP still has a couple years left on his deal. Then if AB doesn't bring it by the time his option is due you just sit him down and let AP get a crack for the rest of the year.

I actually think Bennett's mechanics are solid, but I suppose it never hurts to tweak things. I'm not sure how one trains for inconsistent effort, as that seems to be the #1 issue with AB in my mind.

Thanks for the reply. I guess Bud worked with a shooting coach this summer and that was supposed to be sort of his strength so yeah.

I think training for effort i can think of is working against a guy that never stops and will kick your butt if you don't by beating you. A few of us thought Bazz should work out with/against Othyus Jeffers and hope what he had rubbed off on him. It turns out Bazz had his own drive which is fantastic.

Khans makes a reasonable point that Bennett could benefit from having some consistency this offseason. That line of thinking is why I think some team (it only take one) could value him enough to move him in some type of deal. One thing I will say about Bennett is he seems to be a good kid and should be easy to cheer for. I don't think the guy is lazy or a bad apple or whatever and that's a good thing. The bad thing for Bennett is there is a pretty solid chance he won't have that consistency because he is 2nd on my list of guys to be possibly dealt. Bud is #1 at better than 50% and Bennett is #2 at somewhere between 20%-35% possibilty of being traded.

I think the only thing we can do is roll with the PFs we have and hope one of the young guys step it up. If not then we are free of Bennett after the year. I don't think we will get anything for him in a trade. I don't think we will get anything for him that has a higher upside than he has and as a rebuilding team I'm willing to wait it out one more year.

Flip has himself quite a poor logjam at PF. We have the same PF logjam as the Bulls without the talent.

I agree with this, but still want Bjelica here to see if he is a player or not. I am guessing he would be the best PF we have.

I would also be curious what the market is for Lin. I wouldn't mind him backing up Rubio.

Could Bennett plus #31 get us into the first round to select Jones? I think it could.
