Not saying LaVine will be Russell Westbrook, but compare their numbers per 36 minutes in their rookie seasons. Pretty close to each other.

I don't totally agree, but Lynch said after the game that Zach has a higher ceiling than Andrew. What I do know is that Zach is going to live in the gym this summer in an attempt to get better. Looking forward to seeing what kind of player he is next year.

As crazy as it sounds (the moment I heard it I was like WTF is he smoking) I started thinking about that and Lynch might actually be right. How insane would that be. I don't want to get too excited, but damn.. we could end up with our own Jordan/Pippen duo, not in terms of greatness, but just having 2 young guys coming up with the organization that might actually have similar roles to them. Wiggins the SF Pippen type and Lavine the high flying guard. Jordan did play PG a bit too early on.

I said this a couple weeks ago about Zach having a higher ceiling. He's just as athletic so he has the tools to defend well, hecan also get to the rim at will, but its his shooting touch and desire to exert himself that sets him apart for me. All he needs to do is work on his passing and defense. Sky is the limit for him just as much as it is for wiggins.

I agree. And so does Flip.

Just think about what Zach has been doing fairly consistently for the past month as a 19/20 year old with only one year of college and only one start as a college player -- all at the toughest position in the League. He is obviously far more than a great athlete. He has a beautiful shooting stroke and an excellent handle. He has also shown a knack and desire for rebounding. Getting back to his athleticism, note that he has incredible speed with the ball to go with his tremendous hops. You don't always see both in the same player.

He's the complete package of talent and skill. Add to that the fact that he has a great passion for he game and has been described by Flip as a gym rat. In other words, this is a guy wh will work tirelessly on his game. You can see his great motor in games. He plays hard every second, never taking a play off. So sky is the limit for Zach.

One final thought is that Zach put up 37 last night against the best defensive team in the League.

We have our dynamic duo for the future. And that's why a 16-win season shouldn't bring us down as Wolves fans. We are long overdue for the #1 pick. Let's get it and bring Towns to town!

Wiggins and Rubio are building blocks. Hopefully we draft well and add a third. LaVine and Dieng have the tools to be above average players but need a lot of work. I don't see Shabazz as ever being an above average player.

I disagree. I think LaVine is a better building block than rubio already, and I'm obviously a big rubioooo fan. In this league you need to be a threat to score to be anything special. I also think Ricky's defense is overrated. Rubios passing is outstanding, and would love seeing him set up lavine and Wiggins, but I think rubio would be easier to replace than LaVine will be in 1 or 2 years.

As for bazz I think he is already above average, and I see dieng as a good player who has had absolutely no help inside.

Ricky has a much better plus minus than any of the team's regulars. LaVine has one of the worst. When Ricky is healthy the team just seems to play better on both sides of the ball. LaVine could be as good in the future (possibly better), but he still has a long way to go.

Bazz is very limited and he's not an above average rotation player right now. I don't mind being proven wrong, but I don't see a high upside with him.

When Ricky is healthy. That's the think, there always has to be an asterisk by Ricky. You can't be a building block if you can't stay on the court. Ricky has a lot more wear than the average 24 year old as he's been playing pro since he was 16. That also means he has a higher ball IQ than the average 24 year old. By the time Zach is 24 I have no doubt he will be better than Ricky currently is. That, riickys injuries, and his lack of offensive threat is why I don't consider him a franchise player.

Even if Zach was stuck at pg I'd see him picking up 15 assists in a game before Ricky ever scored 37 in a game.
