...and I keep hearing he's young. Well, can't young people be taught stuff?
This reminds me of a thread back on Ol' BSPN board roundabout 2009. Someone said "won't it be great when Ricky is the 2 because Johnny is so great at the 1?" I basically said pump the brakes, and was told I was a negative nelly. Fast forward 5 years, and "Johnny" is playing in Perth Austrailia and "Ricky" has one of the 3 worst shooting percentages of the modern era.
So flip it around, and I'm saying that Wiggins is a good FOURTH ball-handler, and I am being told no way? Life is funny sometimes.

two incomplete seasons. 57 games played (with us) at 15 min per game at the age of 21 in only his second season isn't exactly a full blown go at it IMO. Not to mention he hasn't exactly had any stability in his career so far.
I don't like the fact that I'm defending Anthony Bennett, but he is still a youngster. Yes he hasn't set the world on fire to date, and been a huge disappointment as a #1 pick so far, but I don't think you can write him off just yet. Give him a full (healthy) season with some continuity would likely help his cause.
With that being said we don't exactly have minutes/role carved out for him which is why I would like to see him traded to a team with cap space with a spot in the rotation where he can get consistent minutes. I haven't heard anything negative about him off the court, because of that I want him to succeed or at least get a fair shake.
The 15th roster spot means pretty much squadoosh on every team in the league. If you're depending on your 15th man for more than 10 minutes for 1 game in a blue moon I got news for you This year isn't your year. The Spurs 15th man Austin Daye, Warriors Ognjen Kuzmic, Cavs Joe Harris. These guys do not matter in the scheme of things, and Bennett is an expiring contract and seeing as we weren't going to have cap space for anything of note with or without him he is not a bad contract.
He doesn't deserve more time. If GR3 can't get a full season, why should AB get a 3rd NBA season? He hasn't shined in the least in two seasons. Its plain as day that he's a bust. He's bad on both sides of the ball. I am a fan of two way players, I tolerate one way players if they are really good on one side of the ball, but I don't want zero way players.
And don't feel bad for AB, he's been well paid. Most on this board will never make the money AB has.

So why even cite it?

Saying AB is a sure bust is going to far for me.
Q I don't want Wiggins playing PG but I do feel optimistic he improves his ball handling this year that he can be more of a creator at SG. Besides if Brewer can play some sort of PG than someone else can do it in Flip's system. People will laugh but Hummel probably would get a shot for a few games for a few minutes a game if disaster strikes. Of course Bjelica makes even more sense.
i think we can make reasonable assumptions about what Flip thinks about AB however I don't know if we can say for certain he doesn't value him. Unfortunately nobody has asked him the last couple months (that I have heard) what Flip thinks about AB. We heard how Flip wanted Okafor, how he didn't value Bjelica etc and hey well that either was not exactly true or he changed his mind.

Because there could be some potential there. Would it really shock you if his coach, a former Div I pass-first point guard on a LOADED team, taught him how?

I will add the idea that the Sixers don't want GR3 at all is not what was reported. I read they just didn't want him on a 1 year deal. They want to lock those cheap young guys up on longer deals so if they hit on them they have them locked in. Its a little crazy but it does make sense in a way. GR3 will find a spot somewhere probably for cheap on an NBA roster. He has an odd good upside of role player.

Last season we were in dire straits at the PG slot. Flip actually had Corey Brewer - AKA the drunken dribbler - and Robbie Hummel run the point ahead of Wiggins.
No, I don't think we'll see Wiggins initiating the offense from the backcourt anytime soon.

Are you sure Monster? Because their attitude towards KJ McDaniel was exact opposite, and he seems to be having a better career than Robinson.

There is a lot of factors with that Q. Some of which is his age and the pressure that comes with being the #1 pick, and his place as the centerpiece of a trade for a very good player.
Like I said, fourth ballhandler. It might just work.

So let's say Martin gets hurt (very possible) and Rubio gets hurt (also very possible). Who sops up the 96 minutes of PG and SG minutes?
