Trying to get better assets in a bad draft is not building the right way. That's a desperate way to build and it's literally like trying to win the lottery to be successful. Then rinse and repeat every year. Which is what we've been seeing for years now. If you want KAT to continue to develop positively you need to put people around him who are good at basketball. Especially the ball handlers who run our offense. Not rookies who need a few years to learn how to play the right way. We're at the point where any rookies we do get should be having to fight their way into the rotation behind quality veterans. Not have the way cleared for them like trading Teague to try to get Garland. Where are you at if Garland isn't the real deal? That's a massive risk/reward situation. Everyone just assumes build it right means you have to draft your way there and that just isn't the case. The Raptors didn't draft their way there. 4 of their 5 starters weren't drafted by them. Houston has 1 starter that they drafted and they've been the 2nd/3rd best team in the league the last few years. GS, Milwaukee and Philly drafted some of their best players, but not all of them. So there is no one right way to build a team and again, trying to build a team that's going to stay together and contend for 5, 6, 7 years which is the draft route just isn't realistic. Think of what the Warriors just had to do just to get 5 years out of that team. OKC did almost everything right and it still didn't work out. You just have to keep making the best moves for your team at every turn and that doesn't always mean one road-map to success. Holiday may not available, but we have to think differently about this rebuild than just rinse and repeat draft guys and hope they pan out.

You have to be realistic in where the Wolves are at now. They realistically don't have a chance to contend next year with this roster, continuing to add younger talent now makes sense so that 3-4 years from now they can possibly win a championship. That should be the goal always. Not going all in to just make the playoffs once.

Any move needs to be focused on the mid to long term, not just this season. Yes you do have to somewhat "gamble" on draft picks. It's really the only way the Wolves can acquire elite talent (most teams). The Wolves are NOT a destination city. Draft and trades are really their best options if not only options.

I'm just saying if Jimmy was on this team right now. I think there is a legit shot the wolves could make the finals this year. Now Jimmy is an ass and personalities didn't match but thibs didn't gamble the future for a year run and thibs looks like a genius if our players would of gotten along
