If Dunn's better off the ball, as is LaVine and Wiggins, someone's gonna have to go since neither LaVine nor Dunn have shown the ability to be decent at PG. If Dunn can't figure it out at PG, he's gonna get squeezed out, especially since Wiggins lacks the work ethic to be able to comfortably handle more physicality at SF. Dunn's praying more than anyone Minny either doesn't win the lotto or doesn't stumble onto Fox or even Monk.
Why does someone have to go, they all can play a role on the team. I mean thomas, bradley, smart and crowder all made it work. Also wiggins did just fine playing SF this year. Yes he has to get better but he is still a pretty darn good sf
Simple:
where are the minutes coming from? You think Thibs is gonna significantly scale Wiggins and LaVine's playing time just so Dunn can coexist alongside them at a stacked position? Thomas averaged 34 a night, Bradley 33, Crowder 32, Smart backed up pretty much at every position at 30. They also played smaller so sometimes Crowder would shift to the 4 in spurts since their bigs didn't play much (after Horford, Olynyk played the most out of their bigs at 20 mpg). Meanwhile, on this team not a single starter played less than 32 minutes a game with the leading bench player (Bazz) averaging 19 mpg off the bench. If Dunn can't handle PG, his minutes are gonna come almost exclusively at LaVine's expense, so unless Thibs completely rethinks how he uses a rotation of guys, I don't know how comfortably he's gonna be scaling back his top guys even though he should.
Wiggins flat out doesn't put in the work at SF. If he's not gonna do better at rebounding or for his sake, developing his body to handle more physicality (i.e. add 20 pounds of muscle), he's gonna be a detriment at SF more than he is an asset.
