How can Embiid be labeled as unreliable already? He hasn't played a game because his team kept him out much longer than he needed to be held out so his injury fully heals. Until he actually gets reinjured it's not a fair label to call him unreliable or injury prone. A broken foot is just as much a freak injury as a torn ACL. He'll have had over a year to recover and heal when the needed time frame was 4-6 months stated by his surgeon.

If healthy it's Embiid and it's not even close. Not sure he is healthy and the injury problems big men have is concerning.

He's missed an entire season and has foot and back issues. I certainly can label him unreliable and an injury risk. And the kicker is if Philly is willing to trade him, its probably a lot worse than expected. Maybe, his career follows the trajectory of Greg Oden. I would not give up much for Embiid given his injury history and salary. IMO, I think Towns is much better than what we'd get at #3, so just not worth it to gamble on Embiid when we are at an information disadvantage. Plus, we'll have so much cap space in another year that we can add a quality starter to Wiggins, Towns, Ricky and Lavine, plus have decent depth.

Ding ding ding. You have this correct in my estimation. The risk is unnecessary. Just take the BPA at No. 1, who should be Karl Towns, and be done with it.

I believe towns is the right pick and I rationalize it this way..

There is not much separation between towns, okafor and russel in terms of talent , potential and ceiling. They all bring something different to the table. All have all star and building bocks potential. I highly doubt there that any of the 3 will convincingly win you over in a workout as a clear cut number 1 pick. It may come to personal preference on who you like more. If that is the case, then this will be the rare case where we look at who of the 3 fits the team the most?

That is clearly towns because of his defense and ability to stretch the floor as a big when we have 2 good post up wings in wiggins and bazz and a passing pg in rubio lock up. They compliment each other the most.

I believe a team should always draft the best player available and not draft for need. But in this case, all 3 are very very close and it may come down to how they are used and developed in their careers. Taking that into consideration, we should draft a player that fits the players and style of the team and develop and coach them to the best of their abilities. Towns is the right pick.

Flip stated that Porzingis may have as much talent as anyone in the draft. Still, I dont see Flip outsmarting himself with a trade like this.

Towns won't workout for any teams. I would bet Okafor won't either.

That hurts towns, Flip wanted to see the 3pt shot in the workout

Flip is smart enough to trust the word of Town's coaches including Cal over a workout where he gets to watch him chuck up some 3's. I bet all 3 work out for the Wolves though not that it really matters all that much and Q will be happy if there is no workouts. lol

Sure, he'd like to see it in person, but I think it's pretty much accepted that Karl can shoot. That's a skill he possesses and has shown since he was 16.

This is the kind of shit I can't stand. NBA teams are slotted to give these guys millions of dollars with no commitment from them to even show up for a workout. Make it all mandatory or give teams a 500k opt out in the rookie scale that says you get docked 500k if you deny a team a workout and they select you. Their commiting 3 years minimum to these guys and the players won't even workout for them anymore. Show up and play some basketball. It's a workout for crying out loud.

I wouldn't if I were Okafor. I wish both of them would though. With Russell, Towns, and Okafor pretty close together I would want every ounce of data I could get.
