Flip is smart to proceed that way. And if I were him, I'd really keep all my options open including moving down a spot or two if the return was too much to turn down. But part of me wishes he would come out and say Towns is his guy and be done with it. I'm worried he might actually go a different direction and it's a scary thought to me.

But realistically he has the time, so he might as well use it. Who knows what might happen in the next 5 weeks.

My nightmare is Flip trading down and then taking Kristaps Porzingis. Say a prayer for me if that happened because I'd be one foot off the ledge.

What if he got Embiid to do it?

You're asking the wrong guy, unfortunately. I'm not an Embiid guy; never really was because of all the red flags. Add another red flag to the bunch if he's actually available for trade.

I also believe that Towns and Okafor are going to be better than Embiid.

I think Embiid has the most potential of all 3, and that's all you're banking on with all 3 currently. So with that said, I take that trade and leave happy with one of Towns, Okafor, or Russell and walk away knowing we made off with the king's ransom. You could not do better than that outcome in my opinion.

Noel + 3 for Bennett + 1 and I'll definitely think about it. Actually, right now, I'd say I'd take it. Best case scenario is Towns somehow gets past LA (he won't) and worst case scenario is you get Jahlil Okafor at No. 3, which is still a value pick considering I believe he's the second-best player in the draft.

Then you hope Noel's stellar defensive ability is able to make up for Okafor's lapses. Sure, our spacing is gonna be a bit meddled with Noel at the power forward position, but you do have two very good young bigs to build around Wiggins.

[I don't believe the Sixers would move Noel, but who the hell really knows? Maybe they view Embiid and Saric as the future with Russell running the show.]

Yeah Embiid was injured, but Philly did the same thing with him that they did with Noel. Keep them out for over a year and let them get completely healthy. Rather than rushing them back and increasing the chance they reinjure.

Embiid's freshman #'s at Kansas exceed both Town's and Okafor's #'s in nearly every category. He is a big time player, and id take him over Noel. I highly doubt Philly thinks about this though. Noel/Embiid has huge potential. Keep in mind Embiid does have shooting range to space an offense.
