It's not so much the Bobcats giving up on MKG as making a move that fits what they need with talent that is still around the same age as MGK. They have 2 good wing defenders in Henderson and Taylor already, but neither of them are better scorers than D Will even while D Will is struggling to find his place. Big Al is a C and Zeller is a rookie 4 who will inevitably play some 5. McRoberts is really their only true 4 and I would think any person would rather have D Will and his potential playing minutes over McRoberts when your team is built like theirs is. D Will could play the 3 there just for the fact that they need his scoring more than they need MKG's defense. Throw in another young player like a Shved or Bazz and it should be a no brainer for them because MKG just isn't ready yet and they are looking to win more now than they probably should be. The reason I like MGK over Taylor is Taylor is really a backup 2 with a 2's size and we need a true 3 who can defend that position and Brewer isn't that guy. He is a disruptor off the bench like JJ. MKG has the size and athleticism and would give us a young piece to look forward to developing in the future while playing which seemingly nobody but Shved is going to get a chance to do this year pending injuries. I think it makes sense for both teams and it puts both D Will and MKG in better situations to succeed which could help them both reach their potential.
