I think they just gotta bite it this year and hope for the best in the draft. hopefully they find a way to unload Martin and Pek this offseason as well.
I think we trade to unload salaries at this point. Thad and Bud for an expiring KG would help us. I don't think it would hurt to have KG around the rest of the season. Flip would know if he would be willing to help groom kids the rest of the year or would melt down.

Not like this will happen, but I'd have interest in Joe Johnson, contract and all. Price tag couldn't be that high and he wouldn't add many, if any, wins this year. Good guy to learn from, especially for Wiggins. I don't even know how a deal could get made, to be honest. Brewer + Bud + Young for Johnson?
Rubio / LaVine
Johnson / Martin
Wiggins / Muhammad
Bennett / Adrien
Pekovic / Dieng
Makes us really thin at PF. Could be a problem. We'd have scorers, though. And how would we divide minutes up? Johnson- 28, Martin- 20, Wiggins- 28, Muhammad- 20? I'd probably be okay with that.
Closing lineup of: Rubio-Martin-Johnson-Bennett-Pekovic looks decent on paper.
I'm writing this knowing this has 1% chance of happening.

Please stop all KG trade ideas. All of them.

Tori Hunter is back. No it is time to bring KG back too.

Not sure why either team does that deal.
We do it because Lee is a much better player for our roster (inside game, rebounding) and we get him one more year at a fair salary because clearly Bennett is miles away from being an every day contributor. They do it because they are going to have to make space for salary moving forward and have shown that they can win without him.

David Lee at $15M isn't fair at all. It's quite the opposite actually.

Not with the new cap. Overall I think we need a stop gap solution at the 4 unless we get that player who is a perfect mix in the draft. I am very unimpressed with Bennett. I mean if people complain that Wiggins checks out this guy was never in the game. He is a big enough boy to get in there and battle but compared to Shabazz it is seems like he hates having the ball. We need a 4 who hustles and battles inside. Young may be talented but he is not that.

Trust me, I hear you on Bennett. That's not the issue I have with your proposal. It's an old David Lee at $15M that I'd rather stay away from. If we do trade Young, I'd prefer to get an asset we can use for the future. I'd rather keep Young, though. I think it makes sense for the present and future if able to re-sign him for a reasonable amount.

I am just not as high on Young as you are on this team from what I can see from him. He will likely want 12+ too moving forward. We can't afford to play small 4s who don't battle inside. Pek is limited in getting the ball as his health is way to unpredictable. I hope Dieng becomes more of an aggressor, but that is clearly a work in progress. It would be one year at 15 mill and if it didn't work out a valuable trade piece. Fair enough though. You really like Young, I have yet to see it but hope he really can assert his abilities at some point in the season.

Rockets are still after Brewer. With Black and Motie playing well for them at the PF, I wonder if they'd part with Jones. I'm still a fan of him. He'd have to get healthy of course.
