Rubio, Dieng, and Pek are good players but they don't look like that guy. He didn't see much playing time but Shabazz doesn't appear to be the guy either. I don't see any trades not involving Love that would net us that player and I don't see any top free agents coming here.
Wolves have had the chance to acquire Curry, Cousins, and George in the time Love has been there. To say those opportunities would never come up again is silly. Unless you think the Wolves would continue to screw things up, which is a different story

How would we have a chance to acquire Curry, Cousins, or George? Curry was the 7th pick, Cousins was 5th, and George 10th. Do you honestly see this team getting worse in the next few years if we keep Love? If he's healthy and we do get worse that would be a huge knock on Love, when has a "top 5" player ever been in the lottery for that long? If we get worse because he gets injured every year that would also decrease his value. If we remain the same we lose our pick to the Suns. That would leave us only 1 draft and 1 season for us to get this mythical rookie.

The Wolves took Rubio and Flynn at 5 and 6 the year Curry went 6th.
The Wolves took Wesley "Smiles" Johnson 4th the year Cousins went 5th and George went 10th.
No they couldn't have taken all three, but they were in position and botched the picks when all three were available.

He was referring to the notion we wouldn't have a chance at a run of picks like that happening with Love on the team again. He wasn't arguing that those picks could have happened in hindsight because we all know they could have happened.
