But now that we have the 6th spot secured, the game tomorrow has less at stake. I have no clue why Finch waited so freakin' long to put the subs in late in the 4th, but I get why he stuck with a 9-man rotation throughout the first three frames.
I think you meant three and three quarter frames.
But I'm assuming your earlier point was that Finch should have been working in Beringer and/or other deep bench guys throughout the entire game, no? I'm just saying why I think he didn't. I agree he waited too long to get them in in the 4th.

I will never be hubristic enough to think I have anywhere near the basketball knowledge Finchy has, but I have to agree with you guys...he does seem to leave starters in the game long after the game is decided. Ju in the game with 3 1/2 minutes left...really? Maybe there is something he is challenging Ju to work on, but it seems ill-advised to me.

Abe's "I wanted to only discuss the Pacers deep bench guys but I couldn't remember any of their names" DVR Review:

- Games like this are good for building a bit of momentum. Wolves starting out 6 - 7 on threes after how poorly they've shot recently is probably a good thing.

- I know Edwards has been better offensively on the road than at home this season... but I didn't realize that the team has as well. They showed a stat where the Wolves are #2 on offense on the road this season. But only 13th overall in offensive efficiency.

- Yawn.

- I fell asleep for most of the 2nd quarter. LOL. I awoke to the Pacers with 14 TOs and the Wolves with 11 TOs. Yuck.

- Divincenzo seems to be joking and laughing more than I've ever seen before. Pretty much all game. But there was one timeout in the 3rd quarter where Donte was just wandering around when someone in the crowd got his attention. "I'm not in. I'm on the bench." Then he looked back as he walked back to the huddle and added, "We're up 30." and then dismissed the fan.

- To be fair, when he got back in the game, he played a bit like he wasn't really into the game.

- I know the Pacers are down 17 of their top 20 players or something... but where did they find #4 (Peter)? He looks like a D2 player who they found on the concourse.

- Ha. Turns out he did play D2! A guy "listed" at 6'3" but is most definitely not 6'3" who never averaged more than 1 assist in college. Yeah, the Pacers want to lose. But at the same time, good for these guys. They made the NBA and they're making basketball every once in a while. That's pretty damn cool.

- I guess a couple of these guys are playing for deep bench spots on the good Pacers team next season.

- Good to see Naz hit some shots. He's been a streaky shooter throughout his career. Maybe he's due for one of those amazing hot streaks that'll coincide with the playoffs.

- Agree with everyone else... I was wondering why the deep bench wasn't put in earlier. I sorta/kinda understand why the starters play. It's the NBA where they've "earned" their minutes and nobody was extended too much in this one. (Randle only played 27 minutes.) They'll all have enough energy tomorrow. But, I think we all agree that guys like Beringer just need to see the court. And why risk another injury. So Finch probably deserves some heat here.

- TJ Shannon is now a deep bench guy. Hmmm.

- Why does it seem like the Wolves often lose these garbage time minutes to other team's deep benches? (To be fair, Indiana's deep bench guys are now starters.)

- Playoff berth secured. Cool.
