Unless Rocco plays so well this summer league that he deserves it (very possible) I think they keep him on the 2-way and then sign him to a NBA deal toward the end of the season with the 15th roster spot like they did with Jaylen Clark.
Monster, you simple fuck - that's actually a pretty reasonable take.
   Cool, what is this bit?
I was wondering the same thing. Seems to have come out of nowhere.

Interesting chatter yesterday with reporting that teams think the Cavs are the situation to beat, which if that's the case it's more about ending his career at home vs a primarily basketball reason. Of the 6 teams left in the hunt for him, 2 legit contenders (MIN/PHI), 2 maybe contenders (DEN/MIA), a 2 fun/feel good spots (CLE/GS). I'm thinking it's CLE or MIN, but wouldn't be surprised with GS or PHI.

Of the 5 teams, i would put them in this order of likelihood, based off everything i am hearing.

Warriors- has to do the least here on offense
Wolves- location, melo head scratchers
Cavs- Harden playoffs, two bigs clogging lane
Heat- too many non shooters
Nuggets- no defense

You know what is one maybe small piece that could MAYBE sway Lebron to go to Minny? The Lynx and Olivia Miles. Miles is basically the most exciting basketball player to join the WNBA this year and has kinda brought back the idea of the true passing PG to many. Could Lebron and his group find a way to weave in something to add a compelling element with the Lynx?

I'll just say that while I would not be surprised if Lebron maybe already has his mind made up as some others have suggested if I was him I would be spending ridiculous time going over research and talking to people I trusted about what I should do next. I have several options. What's the best one? Is this really my last year? Do I want to try and get my son with me for that last season? Logistically what is this going to look like for my family?
I totally agree, Monster. I’ll confess that I really want LeBron end up here. But I’m trying to contain myself and avoid setting myself up for disappointment. For my own piece of mind, I first tried to convince myself he’s going to Golden State or Miami. But those scenarios just didn’t hold up under closer scrutiny. Denver has never made sense to me. I started to convince myself he’s going to the Sixers after reading his agent’s comment about LeBron going to the Knicks if they hadn’t just won the title. But as you can see, that move just doesn’t seem like his best move. As a last resort, I’m now in the process of convincing myself that he’ll go to Cleveland. :).

I think LeBron talks to a lot of people and thinks these things through carefully.
If he is as smart as he thinks he is, he should already basically know everything about every current team/roster.

It's probably getting close to 30 glorious years.

To be fair to LeBron, no one knows for sure what each team’s roster will look like for next season until then end of free agency. If I were LeBron, I’d at least wait until after today’s opening of the signing period to make sure the deals already made actually happen — to make sure LaMelo ends up on the Wolves and that Brown ends on on the Sixers, etc.

Listening to the national pundits, they can’t contain their disdain for the idea of LeBron signing with the Wolves. The lastest was that it wouldn’t look good for his legacy to go to a team like the Wolves, which isn’t an iconic franchise. Well, the Nuggets, Cavs and Heat aren’t iconic franchises either. The Lakers, Knicks and Celtics are what I would consider the three iconic NBA franchises. You might consider the Sixers in that category, but that’s about it. Yet, the pundits repeatedly single out the Wolves as some sort of irrelevant, Siberian outpost beyond the reaches of civilization. It’s ridiculous. If I were LeBron, I’d sign with the Wolves just to be different. I can’t think of a better way for LeBron to distinguish himself and his legacy than to sign with the team no one expects or wants him to join and take them to the NBA finals and maybe a championship. I doubt LeBron thinks that way, but if he did, then the more the pundits talk the greater our chances would be to land him. :)

Apparently, Rich Paul has hinted that next season will not be LeBron’s last. That aligns with my thinking that he wants to match MJ’s six championships. That tells me if he wins one next season he’ll want to come back one more season for a chance to win his 6th. It would just be a longer documentary, right? I’d say the Wolves offer him his best chance for two more titles with the same team because of our youth.

And the number of key players already signed for multiple years!
