In light of recent events this tweet is very interesting especially considering the relationship Butler and Wade have had in the past.

"Besides competing against his teams in the past i don't know thibs like that but iam now a bigger fan and it's because of his loyalty. I love that he believes in his guys. The game is played more than one way."

He was referring to the deng signing. Miami then signed wade shortly after that tweet. A "very convenient" tweet.

Butler excused from media.
Butler also informed the team that he wont be showing up for camp.

Hes staying away until the trade. This is very personal for him. Hes refused tti step foot in minnesota since the season ended.

We are fine in that respect. All on their last year is their deal. One is good in Taj and the other 2 are min guys

This is why I mentioned in a previous thread I'm gonna start following the Bulls. You with me?

I think it would be smart to move Taj if we can get value for him. He's old and not a future building block, but most concerning is his closeness to Thibs and Butler and the friction that may linger in the locker room.

Would be another typical Glen move.

Not terrible on an interim basis. I see him as a place-holder, not as a long-term selection. How about Kevin McHale? I'm serious. He can coach. But would he want to come back here and coach?

That's not a bad suggestion. He would be good with KAT and I think his approach would work well with Wig too.

McHale has personality and the ability to relate to players -- characteristics that are critical to being successful as a head coach in today's NBA. I agree that McHale would be great for KAT.

You must be a glutton for punishment.

Bringing back the country club is EXACTLY what Glen would love to do.

I would have zero problem with bringing McHale back as head coach only! In fact I think he'd be the type to get the best from KAT and he has a track record of being a quality coach. At McHale's age it's not as though he'd be a long term solution. Given they're once again faced with a wasted season in terms of continuity I think his positives would outweigh those of most other interim types. I would want someone else in the PBO seat though.

You gotta understand something.

Glen is incapable of just letting McHale be a coach only. If he hires someone else to be a GM and that GM has a different philosophy than McHale, we all know which side Glen Taylor is gonna agree with. That's a no-win situation for any POBO. We lost out on Dennis Lindsey over Glen's reluctance to allow him to hire his own coach because he was so attached to McHale. It's just not doable.

The only real course of action now if Thibs goes is simply to let Layden be the GM the rest of the way, let either Greer or Saunders be interim head coach, interview as many outside unemployed candidates as you can, and reload the coaching staff once the season is over.

I'm not opposed to moving Taj if we basically go full blown moving guys (especially if we get back a PF in a Butler trade) but Taj isn't going to be a problem in the locker room. He was basically always saying positive stuff and even was a guy calling for bench players to get more of an opportunity. Plus we know he can actually play so even if his role was more limited he won't just be phased out. I don't think Deng or Rose would be lockerrom problems but if Thibs was gone I could see them wanting out if they weren't given any opportunities to play or weren't part of whatever plan was even just for this season. That would seem pretty easy to facilitate especially for Deng I think there would be some teams that might sign him. Rose idk.
