KG to return to Timberwolves
The 39-year-old Kevin Garnett has agreed to re-sign with the Wolves, according to KSTP in Saint Paul, Minn. Garnett was traded from the Nets to the Wolves on Feb. 19, playing 5 games with Minnesota before an injury cut his season short.

Probably closer to Duncan's salary than West's salary.

Jon Krawczynski @APkrawczynski
KG hasn't signed a contract yet because he can't until Thurs. Not sure on $$ yet but told he worked w/Wolves to try to give them flexibility
With that I think it's safe to say it will be south of the 10 mill he was making. I expected them to pay him what's left of the cap while leaving some wiggle room, but since it's reportedly a 2 year deal I bet it will be less so that next summer they have more room to spend if needed.

David West is a better player than KG at this point....and he agreed to Vet Min. If KG wants to help the franchise....he would be wise to do the same.

Anyone want to throw out their predictions?
Since its a straight up 2 year deal and its being reported KG was flexible I say 2 years 8 million. I would be fine with that all things considered. I won't be shocked if it's more so yeah.

2 years 8 mil per so 16 total, is my guess.

David West Signs the vet min with the Spurs. WTF????? This is far and away the best signing of free agency. Insane. Their front court is far and away best in the west now.

This statement almost doesn't compute its so asinine. Yes David West plays at a higher level than KG right now, he is also chasing a championship thus the sacrifice. KG and the Wolves however are not. There is no reason to be cheap on KG (at least for this season) bc we can't sign anyone with cap space that doesn't exist and it wouldn't even if we didn't sign KG. KG could try and chase a ring if he so chose, but he is choosing to stick it out here and help our young guys develop and provide veteran leadership/work ethic to a bunch of kids under 21. He is sacrificing his last years in the league to be a mentor rather than compete knowing that it should payoff in an ownership stake when its all said and done.
my prediction 2 years 14 mill. with a player option (that way he can opt out and give us flexibility next summer if we want to try and get involved in free agency)

David Lee to Boston for Gerald Wallace who GS will use they stretch provision on. Nice move for Boston and a big money savings for GS.

Meh, I am one of the few that doesn't believe KG is worth our time. I believe he disrupts more than helps at this point. While his intentions may be solid, having to deal daily with a losing culture, and team in general, is going to wear on him quickly. Also, his "mentoring" will be lost on the likes of Payne and Bennett. I just don't care for KG....never have. Don't mistake that for not appreciating what he was as a player...I do. Just don't want him back here at this point. He is a vet min player IMO....nothing more. Many here get lost in the sentimentality of this KG thing. That's all he is at this point, because he will offer very little as a player.
