I think my hate for the Clippers is actually increasing. Didn't think it was possible. I wonder what Balmer is willing to do to impose his will on this situation. Hope the commish is keeping a close eye on the proceedings.

Over/Under on the number of free throw attempts in Jordan's first game in Dallas (if he changes his mind)...?

A lot of free throws and maybe a concussion.

It's good that Cuban is on the other end of this situation. I don't think he is the type of guy to let any shenanigans take place. Glen would get walked over by the tactics of Balmer.

If I am the Mavs I am hoping he does and Mathews does too.

This is crazypants. I mean, I didn't get why DJ would leave the Clippers, but he did make a verbal commitment. Does this also mean teams can back away from a verbal commitment in this window? This could become a serious problem.

Verbal commitments literally mean nothing in the league. Anyone can back out of them. The problem is your reputation will take a serious hit if you ever back out of a deal, but nobody can do anything about it because if they try to prove that you signed anything they get in big trouble also because you can't sign anything until the moratorium is over.

I don't like the Clips either, but I don't see anything that the commish has to keep an eye on. Nothing's official until tomorrow, so the Clippers are within their rights to pull out all the stops to convince him to stay. Unless you're suggesting that Ballmer might be doing a Taylor/Smith bonehead move here. That would really surprise me.

Did anyone see that Tristan Thompson was supposed to get a five year 80mil contract? How is that possible? Didn't they give the five year deal to Irving already? Aren't they limited to a 4 year deal for him?

I assume they'll close the loop on this weeklong delay or whatever it is...

The only way to close it, is too not allow teams to contact players until FA opens. The league uses this time to close out last season and put together numbers for the upcoming salary cap. My guess is the league does nothing at all, and doesn't even address it.
