NAWs value to other teams doesn't end today. They can give him a new deal and move him for the right deal. Letting him walk is a zero value proposition. The value of NAW and Reid is largely because of their contracts. And yet the Wolves are barely a play-in team despite both of them + Randle + the best health in the NBA.
We will need to sort through what teams have salary space and which ones are able to use the full mid-level after all the trade deadline moves but unless something drastic has changed I'm guessing there will be teams that will be interested in a sign and trade for NAW. That's still a possible option. GS gave up a small asset to sign and trade for Kyle Anderson a few months ago. NAW will cost more but also will be more in demand. I guess it's probably very unlikely that the Wolves are running this same team back in the fall... especially if it fails to get out of rd.1 or even get that far.
