Both Jon K And Dane Moore say they can see the Wolves going into the season with what they have and Jaden at PF if they can't address the Forward spot with a real true starting level guy. A parallel was drawn between now and the Russell situation after the Gobert trade. This isn't maybe ideal but Jaden at PF actually makes plenty of sense to me.
That’s what I would do, Monster, and it makes sense for the Wolves to view it that way.
I am more concerned with him trying to guard guys that have 40 pounds on him. That raises the injury risk, not to mention wear him down.
Someone needs to actually list these problematic front courts people are worried about McDaniels having to deal with.

Monster, you stupid fuck j/k

It's not Jaden that is the concern, it's who is going to guard the great wings in the league?

Lol That's a fair consideration. At this point the Wolves have a number of options there. Obviously none of them are as known in that role as Jaden. For example we don't really know how good Green is or isn't in that role. I think we can agree it seems he is at the very least a worthwhile defender on the wing and it seems like he is pretty physically gifted to be able to do it.
I think Jaden's ability to play off the ball is often not considered. I think he is VERY good at that as well. Imagine having a smart defensive PF that actually helps off guys and protects the rim? Oh and you actually have to guard them on the other end...

I was thinking about some recent moves in Dallas, Utah and LA and I had an idea:
Within the Walker Kessler trade, what if Rudy went back to Utah, PJ and Gafford go to Minnesota, Mavs get Filipowski, and some other contracts, maybe Vando or Knecht or some of Utah's guys like Cody Williams/Sensabaugh/Svi/Konchar. This would open up room for Dallas to play Morez and Aldama and Filipowski is a nice upside play.
Gafford/Joan
PJ/TJ
Jaden/JC
Ant/Green/Bones
Melo/Ayo
The question is if Utah would have Rudy interest. . .

As the free agent market moves along, sources say Minnesota and Golden State have both pitched the NBA’s top-remaining forward, Rui Hachimura.
Interesting news on multiple fronts.
This goes against the Wolves are going small ball chatter a bit. Is it both teams trying to improve the roster to further entice Lebron, a sign he may not be going to either spot or unrelated.
Both landing in MN would sure be something!

In his last podcast Dane pitched a straight up TSJ for Filipowski deal which I thought was somewhat intriguing. Looking at some of Utah's stats from last year I wonder if they are gonna play JJJ and him together.

At this point I would be pretty happy if they got Rui (somehow?), but he's an extremely suspect defender and my God was I surprised to see his rebounding numbers for a guy who is almost 6 ft 10.
His shooting numbers are eye popping tho

Rui would certainly check the "stretch big" checkbox! He's never been strong in the "do shit" category, but last year seemed to be exceptionally bad. I'll take the shooting, though, and hope a change of scenery would help him return to his previous level of mediocre "do shit" stuff. It would be a really good signing at the vet minimum.

If Rui wants to come here for the vet minimum and hit the market again next year, i'd say that's totally fine. The Wolves would only have his early bird rights to keep him. I was wondering if his name would eventually come up.

Early Bird rights don’t kick in until 2 years with a team. Which is a reason for returning to LA on a vet minimum this year to maintain his Bird Rights and hope to get paid next year…
