Interesting article with lots of good points

Yea it's too bad Joerger didn't grab the job last time. I'm fine waiting for him to interview if there are good indications that he will be let go. Of course Grizz management might give him more time considering the injuries. I don't necessarily think Thibs would go out and grab another opening if this went on another week but if he did there is still Van Gundy to fall back on because I doubt he considers any team but Minnesota, as his brother recently alluded to. As long as Glen picks one of these 3, I am happy.

When is game 4 over of that as Matt Barnes put it "we came to a gun fight with spoons" series over? It won't be too much longer so if they really want to see about interviewing Joerger they should know soon. I don't see a job Thibs is gonna go get without knowing what happens here first. I think they guy they may miss out on is Scott Brooks because he seems to have plenty of teams interested and those aren't bad options for him either.

And then there is this:

Sources: Minnesota is engaged in serious talks with Tom Thibodeau to become President of Basketball Ops and coach, with Scott Layden as GM.

I think if I'm ranking the coaches I want to be the next Minnesota head coach, it'd go:

1. Tom Thibodeau
2. Dave Joerger
3. Jeff Van Gundy
4. Ettore Messina

Those are the top dogs as far as I'm concerned. The top two give me the most confidence in winning immediately and improving the players currently here.

Woj tweeting that the talks with Thibs are escalating. Maybe Sid did have the inside track. I guess we can't send him out to pasture just yet.

Fantastic. Get it done, signed, approved, notarized, faxed, stamped, mailed, whatever. https://twitter.com/WojVerticalNBA/status/722830584196648961

I really don't know Scott Layden. But his father was hilarious. Is Scott hilarious?

Thibodeau has been the front-runner throughout this process. @WojVerticalNBA says talks are "serious." Looking likely now

Wolves get Thibs as POBO and HC and Layden (assistant GM in San Antonio) as GM? Holy fuck. Glen deserves high praise if he pulls this off.

That looks like a pretty legit pairing of NBA folks coming over. Layden has done just about everything and the fact that his last stop was with the Spurs makes it even better. He and Thibs worked together with the Knicks.

Or, he played the odds.
