Seems like Calipari's loosening up his reigns on Towns just a bit and the big guy's responded well. Towns was the best player on the court tonight for either team. Gobbling up tough rebounds and finishing through double teams. Basically, he played like a man's man.

Very good to see. I'm rooting for all these prospects to play well. I'd love nothing more than for Flip to have a really hard decision to make.

Definitely, but I hope we end up with a very good big that can be plugged in to start at PF. All depends on how everyone plays and shows in the pre draft stuff.

Towns played great yesterday and is only going to get better as the year goes on. The thing about him is that he is on an extremely talented team and basically has to earn what he gets (not unlike an NBA team). By the end of the year I suspect there will be a stronger Towns v Okafor argument happening.

Hopefully the other top 5-6 prospects keep getting better as well lol.

I'm praying for a Kentucky vs. Duke matchup in the NCAA tournament. That would be greatly appreciated for us fans!

And scouts. NBA caliber bigs usually dominate because they don't have to play other NBA caliber bigs. It makes it hard to judge their ability.

This is great. I have been hard on him, but you can't deny he is stepping up now. I hope he keeps this up. I still think we might win a fair share of games and move down to the 6th or 7th position, but think this is the year we win the lottery or at least move up. (the league promise to use that we would move up in the lottery this year if we trade Love)

Trey Lyles has also been out with an illness, thus the boost in playing time.

D'Angelo Russell with a triple double tonight: 23 pts, 11 assts, and 11 rebs in 35 minutes.

Again, this kid is doing stuff that is almost unheard of at the D-1 level in terms of his all-around play. Evan Turner is the last guy I can think of that was putting up these kinds of numbers, but he did it as a junior, not a freshman. I realize ET didn't turn out to be that great of a pro, but Russell definitely has a better outside shot, which is Turner's achilles heel.

That is awesome. So many options this year. We've got a good thing going.

I'm getting worried that this is shaping up to be a three-man draft in the top tier: Okafor, Russell, and Towns. And the way we're playing, we'll be on the outside looking in!

(Don't get me wrong. I want us to compete and win games. Tanking is uncouth. But still, damn, are these three starting to get separation from the field!)
