Here's an excerpt from the report suggesting that the Pacers have offered both Brogdon and LeVert in a package for Simmons only to be turned down by the Sixers. Hard to believe that Morey would turn down that offer, but this is Daryl Morey we're talking about. Pigs get slaughtered. We'll see what happens to Morey.
"Indiana has been a legitimate suitor for Simmons, league sources say, and really should have been cited more frequently by yours truly along with the other teams (Minnesota, Toronto, San Antonio and Cleveland) that have consistently registered interest in the unhappy Sixer. Indications persist, though, that Philadelphia has been unmoved by the Pacers' ability to offer Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert as the headliners of a trade package. No matter how unrealistic it sounds, Portland's Damian Lillard remains the type of starry target Morey seeks." - via Marc Stein @ marcstein.substack.com

Harden and Durant need the ball, Simmons while a great player isn't great off the ball since he can't shoot and will clog the paint.
I think it's the same here, that we'd be best off trading a DLO versus others because what DLO is good at is with the ball in his hands and creating for others. Can Simmons really pick and roll effectively? He certainly can't pick and pop.
You'd be taking away from Harden and Durant by adding Simmons.

Simmons would be a massive improvement defensively and they have guys like Mills and Joe Harris that would love getting passes from Simmons. Plus Simmons is more likely to be available to play than Kyrie. It won't happen but I think it would actually make basketball sense.

The question is what else did the Pacers ask in return? Did they ask for Maxey or something else of value back? Those 2 guys make over 39 million between them. I bet the offer had something else going back to the Pacers other than Simmons. Let's say for fun it was Brogdon and Lavert for Simmons. No draft picks that's it. Would that be the best they could do plus playing a bunch of luxury tax? The Sixers would also have quite the plethora of SGs and no way they could play them all. Maybe they could get some value in a 3rd team that would want one of them. Of course the Pacers seem likely to want some guards back as they are trading their starting backcourt.

The plan remains for the Sixers to continue canvassing the league for trades, but the possibility of Simmons reporting to the team has increased in recent days, sources tell ESPN.

What the hell does increased mean lol. He took a shit in the morning and then pondered about everything and said I think my changes went from 7% to 9% returning. I know your just reporting it but what stupid tweet that doesn't mean anything.

It doesn't make basketball sense for one reason only.
You can't trust James Harden in late game situations in the playoffs. Kyrie Irving on the other hand is incredibly clutch. The Joe Harrises and Bruce Browns are important to the Nets, but nobody wants them taking late game shots. Even with Harden, when the game gets tight, it's a two man show: KD and Kyrie with James Harden setting them up.

Per RW: Sixers officials and Klutch CEO Rich Paul have progressed in talks over recent days on a resolution to bring Ben Simmons back to Philadelphia in the near future, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
According to Woj, the plan remains for the Sixers to continue canvassing the league for trades, but the possibility of Simmons reporting to the team has increased in recent days. Simmons has long said that he never intends to play another game in Philadelphia, but head coach Doc Rivers has been adamant that he and the team want Ben back.
