That's a fascinating question, Doper. That would be a great swap for the Wolves in my view. And it would actually make sense for the Kings if they take Ivey.

My initial thoughts were: Is Dejounte Murray two first-round picks better than D'Angelo Russell? Is he even a good fit next to Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns? I have respect for Zach Lowe, but that hypothetical trade doesn't interest me much despite acknowledging that Murray is a highly-talented guard. If Minnesota was going to go that route, I'd rather them pry Shai Gilgeous-Alexander away from Oklahoma City.

I was about to write something similar, Cam. I'm a big Dejounte Murray fan and I think he'd be a definite upgrade over DLO. But is he two lightly-protected 1st round picks better than DLO? I'd say no. I wouldn't do that deal. Now, using future picks to get SGA; that's something I'd be interested in.

I'm not sure the Kings are ready to move on from De'Aaron Fox nor do I think he's even an upgrade from D'Angelo Russell. I wouldn't imagine that swap being a real possibility for those reasons.

I dont think in isolation Fox is a better player then Russell. I do think hed be a better fit on the Wolves if were looking to stay in Finch's high pace system and give Ant more usage. You may be right in Sac being set on staying with him, but I think it could be a good deal for both teams.

No possibility.

The Timberwolves are showing interest in Rudy Gobert and Clint Capela to pair alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, per @KevinOConnorNBA.

I saw that. Looks like the Wolves brain trust, including Finch, really want to acquire a defensive big to start next to KAT.

Between the two, I'd prefer Capela for the following reasons:

1. He's a bit younger (28 at the start of the season compared to 30)
2. The Wolves could probably get him without giving up as much as it would take to get Gobert.
3. His contract is much cheaper ($18.7M/$21.1M/$22.7M v. $38.1/$41/$43.8/$46.6)

Rudy is the better rim protector, but their rebounding and scoring stats are very similar. And Capela is also a good rim protector.

I wouldn't even consider trading for Gobert. But as I've indicated previously, I'd consider trading for Capela. I woudn't give up as much as others would, but I think Capela would help the Wolves. I just don't know how much more he'd help us than Hartenstein or Drummond and the Wolves wouldn't have to give up any assets to sign either one of those guys. They would also take a much smaller bite out of the Wolves cap space.

Rudy Gobert is a tremendous interior presence and an annual contender for Defensive Player of the Year, and that's while recognizing him as a three-time winner of the award as well as a four-time All-NBA center and three-time All-Star.

He's also just days away from turning 30-years old with four-years, $170-million left on his current deal. Simply, no thank you. I think Gobert is awesome. I think he's a legitimate game-changer and probably underrated when everything he's capable of doing is considered, but in no way do I want Minnesota to expend the quantity and quality of resources necessary in order to bring him here. We're probably talking about D'Angelo Russell, multiple first-round picks, and potentially Jaden McDaniels for Gobert and the remainder of his deal. I commend Tim Connelly and company for doing their homework and checking in on the availability of some high-profile players, but this is not one that I would pursue aggressively.

If anything, at least we know the Wolves are in pursuit of a legit big man. I doubt they end up with Capela or Gobert, but it feels like we're going to eventually end up with someone on the roster that can help KAT out in the paint. And that's a good thing.
