But he'll be 21 in November and so he's just as old or maybe older than many sophomores and juniors.
Yes he is not young, but my point is that he hasn't had time to develop against higher level competition. 1 year of college isn't alot. I am not suggesting he is going to me awesome, but I think we do need to keep in mind his 1 year of college when we consider his development so far.
I like Kahns point about ball handling. In all honesty Bazz just needs to get good enough to dribble his way out of a paper bag. So many wings we have had over the years couldn't do that. Rodney Carney Wes Johnson, Webster was decent but nothing to right home about. Brewer could dribble his way out of a paper bag, but its would make as much racket as my cats when one is on the floor after we get done grocery shopping. My hope is that Bazz can hit jump shots move without the ball utilize some of his funky post inside game and his skill in being an offensive rebounder to be a solid player. Heck just the hitting outside jumpers seems like A TON to ask from a Wolves wing so we will see. He doesn't have to be a good ball handler to be effective. He also should continue working on it. It would be stupid not to try and improve on it.
Its kinda funny but because of the things Bazz has in his game with his little post up and flip hook shot he has its almost liek he is one of those talented or perceived talented undersized PFs that are trying to make it as SFs. In fact one guy that I might compare him to is Jared Dudley. Dudley is a different player because he is and always will be a guy that plays with energy and I don't think Bazz will be a guy doing quite all that, but I think there is something interesting about Dudley's game mostly jumpers and moving without the ball that kinda reminds me of what Bazz seemed to be able to do in College to get points. Personally if Bazz ended up as good as Dudley is now we would have a steal at #14. Dudley is a nice solid NBA wing that I would love to have on the Wolves.
