Cutting Reynolds wasn't a back breaker by any means for the Wolves, but even at the time of his departure the move seemed odd. Finally the Wolves had found a relatively unknown guard with the ability to defend and successfully make threes -- not just hoist them repeatedly -- and he was let go.

In the relatively small sample size we saw from Reynolds last year I liked what I saw. It's a shame he didn't stick in Minnesota.

Looking good back at my top 3 next moves in my initial post, my top priority would be minutes for Nowell. He's the one player in this organization (other than KAT) who looks like he can bring the shooting this team desperately needs. His FG and 3-point percentages in college were superb. And now his G-League per game shooting stats have been equally stellar: 48% FG, 43% 3-pointers on 7 attempts, 92.3% FT. Watching his video highlights from the G-League and his performance at Target Center, he's shown terrific speed with the ball and he plays big. He's averaging 5 rebounds per game with Iowa. He's a shooter, so the shooting will come with playing time.

I'd also like to see McLaughlin get some more playing time. I read some comment somewhere that McLaughlin was overmatched in his brief stint with the Wolves this season. I disagree. He looked like he has the quickness, ball-handling and basketball IQ to make it at the NBA level. He's putting up terrific numbers with Iowa, averaging 15.2 points on 48% shooting while also averaging 5.4 rebounds and 7.5 assists. But I think getting more minutes for McLaughlin would have to be preceded by trading Teague.

I'm still a fan of Reynolds. FWIW he is putting up decent stats for the bucks g-league team. Once the Wolves basically replaced Cam's roster spot with Graham I had no problem with letting him go. Would Cam's 3 point shooting be nice right now? Sure but I don't think many people thought Graham was gonna be hitting under 20% of his 3's this year. Maybe Cam wouldn't hit them at a high clip either. Meanwhile Kelan Martin has shown some nice stuff and he is probably closer to being the level of talent as Cam is or...isn't. The bottom line is the Wolves have lots of younger players they didn't drop him then went and got older vet guys. They have lots of cheap young talent and Teague is the old guy on the roster.

Teague clearly runs this organization. If he says McLaughlin should play minutes it will happen. :)

The question with McLaughlin is will his size allow him to play competent defense or will it be too much of a disadvantage. He can break down a defense pretty well and deserves more run.

I gotta watch a full game and see what Nowell looks like in full action. The condensed games make him look like he is seriously way beyond this level. Dude is smooth and skilled with the ball.

Just another double double off the bench for my guy Jordon Murphy and he keeps hitting those 3's.

Tyus Battle has been doing some work with more minutes with other wings playing with the NBA team.

McLaughlin was whipping the ball all over the place in this game. I'm not sure all those passes are gonna work at the next level but he has some ability and creativity as a passer. Naz messes up one of his assists but got the rebound and then dimed up someone cutting to the basket.

Wigginton is an intriguing player. Can he be efficient enough and play defense?

EDIT: Posted this in the Iowa Wolves thread also.

A move down the road that I would like if we are playoff or close to playoff caliber team is an Andre Iguodala trade if he still has game, I know he is old now. If he can still defend though I could see him as a nice mentor to some of our younger players while still adding value on the court. I'd prefer him to Teague wonder what the cost would be for Memphis.

Memphis has reportedly been asking for a first. Minnesota would be foolish to give them that. Either they would be outbid or Iguodala would get bought out and have more attractive suitors.

Don't be so sure about that.. KAT and Wiggs are 2 pieces and I like the upside of Culver and KBD. Cov fits in with this group and he has a very team friendly contract. Trading Cov would be a big mistake.
