Juancho is going to bring all the Spanish National team guys to MN!!!
After some more research Vanderbuilt seems like more of a big than a wing. 6'9" with a 7'1" wingspan and he is an above average rebounder when he played in the G-league and was hovering them up in the few games he plays at UK. If you wanted the Wolves to play "bigger" Juancho and Vanderbuilt are guys that give you some more size/length as PF types. I think KBD is more of a wing than a modern PF. That's not a problem though just my sense of where I think he will slot as a player based on what I see now.

The only way the Russell deal happens though is giving up our first round pick and given how big of a team downgrade we just made that's looking like potentially the number 1 overall pick.
Yeah I wouldnt be thrilled about it, but who knows. Im not that down on this deal. Covington was off this year and likely trending in the wrong direction as I see it. We got to stack a few young assets and save some money.
Maybe. But it's important to judge Beasley as a $7M or $10M (or even more?) player. Because he's a restricted free agent. Who cares about this season. It's already lost.
I like the deal we could potentially get Beasley on.
I have no idea what that would be beyond my guesses above. Do you?
How much are you willing to pay for a guy who's playing worse than a replacement level player even on a very good team? A guy with only one season out of four that hasn't been below average?
Typically a player almost universally regressing in year 4 on a good team is not a good sign right? I'm with Abe. Don't really see the value there at all.
I know contract years strike both ways... but the guy certainly had motivation to play well for chrissakes.
A Wolves Cursed Chronicle possibility?
Beasley rebuilds his value in MN for a tanking team so then we can overpay him this summer... instead of simply letting him sit on the bench in DEN and getting him for a lot less this summer. Obviously, DEN wasn't interested in matching any offers.
Lol kind of a pessimist huh?:)
We just traded for a guy who only shoots 3's to an organization where good 3 pt shooters come to die so I'm looking at zero value in this trade coming from Beasley. You can call it pessimism, but we literally make good shooters bad and 3 pt shooting is the only thing he brings to the table. We also have no PG so how is he getting good looks from 3? I can see the roster and I know what this organization does to 3 pt shooters. What makes Beasley the special guy who can avoid that fate?

I don't get your logic? So you want us to go after bad three point shooters?
Also, you're all of a sudden worried about our lack of Pgs now that we traded away Napier? Hmmm ok. Because not having him is going to make a ton of difference. Maybe we'll actually get to see Nowell play now

Where did I say we should go after bad 3pt shooters? You seem to be so sure Beasley will be able to shoot 3's without considering any context of his situation here. Take off the rose colored glasses for a sec. Who's drawing in his defender and getting him the ball so he takes an open 3? That's a big part of being a good role playing 3pt shooter that you just seem to not care about. There's more to 3pt shooting than a number on a stat sheet and we are missing literally everything on the court that leads to that number being good in the NBA outside of Towns. Just seeing Beasley's percentages and chalking that up as good to go on this team and in this organization seems way too overly optimistic.
Also, yes Napier is a better PG than Culver or Wiggins and if Nowell was good enough he would have played over Napier. Having literally no PG on the team now is a problem even if it was already a weakness before.

Re: Cov traded
I don't love it. I don't hate it.
First of all, the idea that Rosas was gonna get a star for RoCo was always laughable and really came from a team wanting to justify trading for him in the first place.
That said, I've always been intrigued by Juancho Hernangomez and Malik Beasley. Maybe they're nothing. Maybe they're guys who just needed opportunity. Like Abe said, I'm not gonna give this team the benefit of the doubt, but I'm also not blaming the players coming here either. At the very least, we'll see if they take advantage of the opportunity others here have failed to take.
If the goal is to get a PG, cool. DRAFT IT! Since they sold us wolf tickets on Culver or Wiggins being primary ballhandlers (load of crap) then throw em in the deep end and leave em there to drown. If and when they fail, you'll have a high pick in a deep PG class. Take one and move on. Enough with Russell.
I'm sad to see RoCo go, but for his mental health I'm happy he's somewhere else. Being here probably took a toll on him and it definitely took a toll on Napier. I'm real happy for him. KBD, I wish him well, but I don't know what the endgame was with him.
My favorite part of this deal is Brooklyn's pick, mainly because I hope we draft Aaron Nesmith with it (look him up. Sniper). A lot of moving parts, but RoCo aside, nothing damaging long term, which says a lot about our offseason (we pretty much traded it all away minus Layman).

Napier isn't really a PG he is really more of a combo guard. If we are using your argument of not having anyone get guys good looks wouldn't that explain some of why the Wolves haven't shot the ball well this year? Probably a little. There is probably some guy on the street we could sign that's just as much of a PG as Napier if that was a big deal. Based on what I have seen McLaughlin is a much better passer than Napier. better player overall? Maybe not but IMO a better passer and true PG...from what I have seen. maybe he has sucked the past few games that I haven't seen yet. What they may miss from Napier was that he actually played defense. If they decide to play Turner some minutes he has been a solid defender in the past so yeah.

Re: Cov traded
And if Towns is pissed about it, tough shit. Maybe if he played better defense he'd still be here. Maybe if he didn't pout all the time he'd still be here.
If he'd rather have "friends" than mold a roster around him which could be a mistake in of itself, then he can be on the next flight out too. There isn't a mature player in that locker room right now.

Wolves did the worst out of the 4 teans involved in the trade. And it gets worse because now wiggs knows rosas doesnt want him here and kat is pissed that his friend is gone.
Weve gone from the bahamas to wuhan.

how does that make it worse?
If Wiggins wants to be wanted by anyone at this point, he can do something about that.
as for KAT, he needs to get his priorities in order.
