Mikkeman wrote:Garnett has still at least two elite skills. Team defense and defensive rebounding. His Drtg numbers in last two years have been 100.5 and 102.5 with most minutes played in pretty bad Brooklyn team. Those are pretty good numbers compared what Wolves rotational players have had in last couple of years. (Better than Rubio's numbers for example)

Also if you check Garnett's defensive rebounding rate from advanced stats, it is still in same (or acually even better) level than during his prime years. Last year it was 31.1 and in previous year it was 32.1. Both numbers were better than numbers during his all star years.

KG cannot rebound anymore. Wide open rebounds? Sure. Anything contested? No he's very bad

Did you not watch him get pushed aside by Gasol in the Bulls game?

Good there's actually a stat on NBA.com on KG's rebounds. only 21% of his rebounds have been contested. Compare that to Towns which 45% of his rebounds have been contested.

So yea it's actually you who is trolling

I remember that play specifically because I was frustrated also but I ended up seeing it a couple more times. KG after that play was mad at himself after that play because he went to help and ended up almost under the rim with basically no chance to get the rebound.

Yes, I remember that well. A team typically rebounds between 70-80% of their opponent's misses, so yeah, sometimes he's going to get out-battled. KG is currently rebounding 30% of opponent misses by himself! That's elite and it can't all come from free throw misses!

Again, you're just trolling him.

I think that says more about Towns than it does KG. Plus, I'm not even sure how they measure "contested". What if KG just tips it to himself because he is so much longer than anyone else as opposed to ripping it out of another guy's hands?

Says it right on there. Contested is when there's a defender within 3 feet of him. In case you think it's just Towns well Dieng is at 43%, even Belly is higher at 37%.

Well, you are indeed correct then and I apologize for calling you a troll, although I still think you are underestimating the overall positive impact KG is having (and this is coming from someone who has traditionally made fun of the KG signing!).
