I get why people like him, but he is shooting less than 28% outside of 3 feet. He doesn't look like a good fit with Wiggins. I think we would be better off targeting a stretch 4.

Again, this is basically his rookie year. He's not going to be a career 28% shooter outside 3ft. Gotta find the forest through the trees. If you would rather have a 3pt stretch four that's fine, but rookie efficiency numbers really shouldn't be a reason to not get someone.

These trades involving vets for other teams' rookies seem very speculative to me (Rubio for Russell or Dieng for Randle are the two examples here).

Not every rookie improves dramatically or becomes the player folks thought they would be when drafted. I feel like we already have enough speculative talent on our current roster, with guys like Wiggins, KAT, LaVine, and Tyus Jones all having varying degrees of theoretical untapped potential, with KAT really the only one actually producing at a fairly elite rate right now. Realistically, some of these guys will improve just a little bit more, some won't improve at all, and may be one or two improve a lot more.

Given the fact we are likely headed for another top 5 or 6 pick and the existing number of other guys on our roster on their rookie deals, I'd prefer to train our sights on more established talent.

I already knew Byron Scott has been almost universally ripped as Lakers coach, but I really didn't know many of the specifics.

YUCK. I know the Lakers MUST finish in the bottom 3 to keep their draft pick (hence the tanking) but are they compromising the long-term of the club with such a blatant approach?

By the way, read that article and notice the "old-school" similarities between Scott and Mitchell.

Want more Byron Scott vs. Sam Mitchell comparisons?
Zach Lowe's article includes this passage. Which coach is he mocking?

"If you asked [Coach], he'd probably blame [team's] lazy and entitled young players, AAU basketball and millennials. If you watch the games, you know that isn't accurate."
