That's three playoff years in a row (37 games total) where his playoff numbers are markedly worse than his regular season numbers. FG% over the last three playoffs: 37%, 39%, and 38%. Rarely gets to the line in the playoffs. 3-pt shooting comes and goes. Etc.

He was rendered useless against the Knicks, with CJ McCollum having to do a bunch of the heavy lifting because no one else could on Atlanta, including the NBA's "Most Improved Player".

I really like NAW and he helped us win a lot of regular season games, but he's been a non-factor in the playoffs. I don't know why either.
His defense is elite though, so sure offensively he's not been great, but he's still a nice player on a reasonable deal. And if his offense continues to evolve, then it's a homerun for ATL.
His defense wasn't elite last season. That's what happens when you take on more minutes and more usage. He was still good, but not the same as when he was coming off the bench with the Wolves.

I agree he's a nice player on a reasonable deal.....in the regular season that is.
Lots of our guys minus Ant suck ass too in the playoffs. We're also looking like were going to ask a lot more from Jaden and Naz too and don't expect a drop off. It's a lot easier being the 6th man then starting every night and facing starters too. Or asking Jaden to play elite defense and score 25 a night. It's not happening folks. We're cooked!!!

I think we can finish 6th again with the roster we have plus additions using the $15M MLE and $6M BAE. But I don’t think TC will stop there. I can’t imagine him not using the trade exception or Rudy to acquire a high-level starter. So I think it’s premature to declare the team cooked. The chef is still in the kitchen preparing the final meal. Let’s see what it looks like when he’s done before rendering a final culinary verdict.

For some fans the only successful cook is trading for their desired star player; whether is Giannis, Kyrie, Ja or whoever. If we don't do that it's failure and the wolves are a lotto team

It's about improving the roster. The roster is getting worse! Just look at the downtrend of it over the last two seasons.

The downturn that coincided with Julius Randles high usage choke hold on the offfense and lack of attention to defense? I wonder if removing him could potentially improve the roster? Hmmmmmm

Per Dane,
If Minnesota structures Ayo Dosunmu's 5 year, $112M deal with the standard 8% raises, this would be what Dosunmu's contract looks like by year...

26-27: $19.3M (12% of the cap)
27-28: $20.8M
28-29: $22.3M
29-30: $23.8M
30-31: $25.3M
https://x.com/DaneMooreNBA/status/20692 ... 89271?s=20

19.3m next season isn't too bad. Initially it seems a tad high, but lets not forget about the expected cap increases. This contract could be looking amazing in a year or 2.

Is any part of you willing to accept that it is possible that Jaden, Naz and Ayo are capable of stepping up and allowing the team to maintain a similar or better level of competitiveness?

It's odd that you're completely dug in on the idea that this isn't possible.

Don't get me wrong, there is still more work to be done, but they literally made the move that gives them space to do that without committing themselves to similarly bad value contracts.

It was untenable here with Randle, that is obvious now. Inconsistent defense and ball stopping offense that I'm sorry, a player of his caliber just doesn't warrant

Whos taking the fall for the blunder then? Finch, TC? Who is getting held accountable for screwing this up!!!

I agree with Lip that maybe we could be the 6th seed, maybe win a playoff round.

Give me the plan to how you are going to beat the Spurs and OKC, even the Knicks? How are you going to play on that level?

Hoping that Jaden becomes Kawhi Leonard in his prime isn't a sound strategy.

Yeah we can be a nice team to watch, but a loser in the end.

Why does someone need to take the fall for four straight playoff appearances entering your star players prime!?!? You’re delusional man💩

Sorry, but this discussion is kind of nonsense when we've only seen the first 2 moves of the Wolves off-season with the draft yet to happen. Why are we judging this stuff in a vacuum that is missing a BIG part of the picture?
