I thought it was Johnson now.
It's been any one of the top-five (Okafor, Towns, Johnson, Russell, Mudiay), but Towns and Johnson have been the two I've argued for the most. Clarified?
Seems you backed off Towns a bit recently.

No? Okay. I'll try not to pay too much attention in the future.

One is clearly more offensively minded/polished but the other has the potential to be a better all around player (mainly because I think Okafor is a little slow footed on the defensive end). I haven't seen Russell play yet, but I am anxious to see him play. Mudiay is the semi-internatinal man of Mystery. I think this is shaping up to be a great with some top heavy talent. I hope we get one of the top 4 guys.
If we get a top 5 pick we should get another young blue chip talent to pair with Wiggins and Rubio for 5-10 years.

I recall him mentioning Johnson more lately, but still sticking with Johnson/Towns as the 2 mentioned.

Two offensive-minded players. Russell doesn't get to the rim enough for me to make the claim that he's best player of the class. Live by the jumper, die by the jumper. At least Okafor projects to get off a high percentage shot most of the time. Plus, he'd be paired with Rubio. Can only imagine how many dropoff dimes Ricky would give him.
That is the logical way to do it, but there a times when the shooter is the better player. Russell has the chance to be a 20/5/5 player in the NBA. That is James Harden type production. If you had to trade Harden for a big who would you trade him for? Outside of AD I am not sure who.
Not saying I would go Okafor, but if Russell keeps this up it won't be an easy choice. I feel like this draft is shaping up to be the best draft since 2008.

There are a lot of bigs I'd trade harden for. I see him like melo. Puts up big numbers but won't lead to championships. Plus, his defense is the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen.
So ibaka, Millsap, cousins, vucevic, Aldridge, griffin, favors, love, bosh, Drummond, Monroe, gasol, horford, Noah are all bugs I'd trade him for.

I dont like the harden comparison for Russell though. Everything he does is so smooth, and he definitely is a big time playmaker. I think he will put up something close to 20/5/5 eventually, and I see him getting marginally better on defense.
That's what I love about this draft, I will be a happy fan if we get any one of the top 5 players. I know 2 of 5 are likely to flame out, but I'm banking on flip not picking those 2.

The Harden comparison is not perfect, but who else is doing that in the NBA?
I just look and see that you can win with a dominate guard in the NBA, but it is really rarely you see a team win with a big.

A big man is the equivalent to a QB in the draft. They tend to get overrated in the whole draft process. If you strike gold and get a good one you are setting very pretty. The thing is there are usually just as many misses as hits. If you get an Olajuwon or a Shaq, then you are had to defend and everybody else gets great looks. I like Okafor offensively. I don't see the skill of Olajuwon or the power of Shaq in his game. I think he will be a very good scorer in the NBA. For me first and foremost you need a C that can be a good to great defender. I don't see that in Okafor's game.
