Sources: The Sixers are not currently interested in Kyrie Irving as a solution to their Ben Simmons problem.
I think that's smart of them, Cam. Irving is an amazing talent, but just too goofy to rely on. I think you wrote yesterday that he might retire, and I see that as a reasonably likely outcome. My guess is he retires for a year or two, and comes back to the team of his choice.
Sources tell Bleacher Report that during an offseason meeting at agent Rich Paul's home, when the Sixers confirmed they intended to fine Ben Simmons for not complying with the terms of his deal, Rivers shouted, "It's in your fucking contract" to report to training camp and play for the team.
Yeah... I can't see why he'd want to play for that organization ever again, especially for the clown head coach that is Doc Rivers.
Shocker you'd say that because it doesn't fit your narrative you've been driving for 2 months.
People on the board have had to endure "Smartest guy in the room" syndrome from you for months on this topic.
Fun to predict how the events are going to play out, but man you typed with such certainty and authority on the subject. You knew every scenario, how it would play out, what everyone involved was thinking. You were one step ahead of this from the beginning. Comical really :)
This isn't that surprising, nor will I be surprised if he "plays" for the Sixers. I still bet on him being traded sooner than later, but am curious how it all plays out.

My narrative? I've based my takes on this subject from the reporting we've had available. That reporting pointed towards a significant holdout from Ben Simmons' camp and a suppressed trade market for him around the league. Both have largely been true. Like I said either earlier in this thread or another, the updated knowledge that Simmons wouldn't be able to recoup this money from his new team changed the situation from where I view it. For months this has been a fluid situation. It will continue to be exactly that until he's moved to another team. But it still doesn't appear that Simmons is invested in his current team or the organization.
You can simply join the other trolls who have an issue with me on this board, though.

I used to wonder if it was just me. Was I the only one who could see through you? But now there is evidence that at least a few of us have that ability, as well as many more who have left the board.
