Perhaps him, his agent, and the front office have agreed that he'd play nice in order to help facilitate the best deal possible for him. In the meantime, he'll still start and give a good effort, but the writing is on the wall.

My gut tells me you're right, Q. Speculation is of course one of the things we do on this board in addition to complaining, venting, informing, questioning and offering up opinions. Of all those, speculation is my favorite. :)

Q - How about speculating on what you think the DLO deal might be? I'm guessing it will DLO for Lowry. I'm just hoping we get a first-round pick in the deal. The one deal I'd get excited about would be Cam's hypothetical of DLO for Fultz and Gary Harris.

Whatever happens it is huge for Dlo to play whatever role he is given by finch. Dlo is not a bad player so he can be valuable to the wolves if he buys in. If he doesn't then he needs to go.

I know Dlo retweeted a cryptic FVF post today. I could see something like Dlo and Naz for FVF and young or Trent. I'm just spit balling

I think that's a reasonable take, kek. The notion of more limited 2nd-unit role for DLO aligns with what what I think it would cost to re-sign him. As I posted earlier, I don't think DLO will command much more than the MLE in around the League. On the other hand, you're absolutely right that we shouldn't re-sign him if he doesn't buy into a more limited role. I actually think DLO has been a great teammate. He's never complained and he's usually the first to praise and congratulate his teammates. But we have no way of knowing how DLO really feels or what he and his agent are saying to Finch or Wolves executives. We'll see what happens, but if DLO gets dealt I think it will happen in the next couple weeks.

I could see that happening. I think Garza's play opens the door a bit wider to dealing Naz.

LAL receives: Victor Oladipo and Bryn Forbes.

I'll leave specific deal scenarios to folks like you, Cam, Kiwi, and others. Not my strength!
What I will say is that it feels like we are getting to a point where DLO's play on the court is neither a big positive or big liability, meaning I'm not sure the front office needs to come up with some super clever, thread-the-needle type deal in order to come out OK. Clearly this is becoming more and more of a team built around Ant + good-to-great role players. The PG may be a plug and play type of situation.....for now. And then eventually we'll need to figure out how to re-integrate KAT because we definitely need another efficient scorer in the mix.
This is what I would consider to be a "best-case scenario" in the event that Minnesota does trade D'Angelo Russell this season. In most of these hypothetical trades I'm not looking to upgrade the point guard position because, as I've noted before, there just aren't many (or any) realistic upgrades available or gettable. That means that the Timberwolves should be looking to add quality role players at other positions, extracting future value in the form of draft capital, and taking on future (movable) salary in order to maintain their financial flexibility.
Dallas: Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo, Naz Reid
Miami: D'Angelo Russell, Christian Wood, Bryn Forbes

I don't want money locked up like that for weak 1st round picks. I do agree that some sort of deal like that is about what we could expect for those assets.
Cam what do the metrics you like say about Hardaway & Martin?
