He really improved this year, and he's not 22 until September.

I'd like to see the Wolves package a couple of their 2nd-round picks and Naz to move up from #19, or move up from 40 into the 31-36 range - maybe even into the lower end of the 1st round. Naz would be an attractive get for a young rebuilding team. He still has plenty of upside, but he's also proven himself to be an NBA rotation player. And he has a very cheap contract.

Here's a list of some higher 2nd-round or lower 1st-round picks that might be gettable in exchange for Naz and some or all of our 2nd-round picks:

Spur's #25 (They have 9, 20, 25 & 38. They won't keep them all. Might like proven guy Naz & 2nd-round flex)
Houston's #26 (They have 3, 17 & 26. Early rebuild so might keep them all, but might like proven guy Naz)
Grizzlies' #29 (They have 22 and 29. Definitely in win-now mode. Suspect they'd prefer Naz over #29)
Pacers' #31 (They have 6 and 31. Not sure what they want to do. But Naz and 48 for 31 makes sense)
OKC's #30 or 34 (They have 2, 12, 30 & 34. Could see them swapping 30 or 34 for proven guy Naz +#48)
Orlando's #32 or 35 (They have 2, 32, 35. I think they'd like to make progress. Naz helps more than 32 or 35)
Portland's #36 (They have 7, 36, 57. Reportedly shopping #7 for win-now guy. Naz and 50 for 36 makes sense)

Here's a list of some potential higher 1st-round picks that might be gettable in exchange for #19, Naz and some assortment of our 2nd-round picks, although depending on how high the Wolves might need to include a future lottery-protected 1st:

Bulls #18 (I would think #19 and 48 would be enough to move up to 18. Shouldn't have to include Naz)
Rockets #17 (#19 and 48 or 40 should be enough. Houston has no 2nd-round picks, but they have 3 1sts)
Hawks #16 (Looks like they'll deal this pick to Jazz for Gobert. But maybe Jazz would swap for 19, Naz and 40)
Hornets #15 (They have 13 & 15, which makes 15 expendable since they're in win-now mode. Naz would fit well)
Cavs #14 (They have 14 & 39. Another win-now mode team that should like Naz off the bench)

There could be potential DLO deals with the Wizards or Knicks to move up from 19 to 10 or 11. Or perhaps there's a package the Wolves could offer that would be attractive enough to swap picks with Indiana or Portland into the #5 or 7 slot. I doubt it, but who knows.

Of all the scenarios listed, the one that make the most sense is MEM. They have 12 (pretty good) players signed, and if they bring back Jones and Anderson, they'll get really expensive. So something like #19/#40/#48/#50 for #22/#29/#37/Tillie.

MEM drafts two guys, stashes two guys, and stay under the lux.
MIN drafts TyTy, Kessler, Koloko and gets ready for camp.

I actually like the idea of moving back slightly and ending up with two first round picks.

Wolves Get: Buddy Hield, Kemba Walker and #6.
Knicks Get: Brogdon and #19
Pacers Get: DLO, Noel, Naz, 11 & 40

Why would the Wolves do this? We'd get the #6 pick and the chance to draft Dyson Daniels. I don't like Buddy's contract, but is presence would make it easier to trade Beasley.

Why would the Knicks do this? They'd get the PG they need and have reportedly been trying to get in return for dropping down 8 spots in the draft. Seems reasonable to me.

Why would the Pacers do this? Not sure. This is the tougher question to answer. Bottom line is that they'd rid themselves of the Buddy Hield's and Brogdon contracts, two players and contracts that don't fit their rebuild situation organized around Haliburton. They'd free up a lot of cap space for next summer and they'd still have a lottery pick at #11 and another 2nd-round pick in a deep draft. Noel would give them more flexibility to trade Myles Turner.

The Knicks cut Minnesota out. They take on the longer contract and move down 8 spots? And STILL keep Randle?

Also, the Pacers are the kind of the team that has no intentions of drafting this high ever again. If they're gonna pick at 6, aim for the moon. Also, they're the last team that needs to add 2 centers. If anything they need to give guys like Isaiah Jackson a chance to play.

The Knicks are just not as pressed to get a vet PG now. They'll use Quickley, Rose and even Burks if they have to unless they find a better younger option. If it's Brunson, that's one thing, but otherwise they'll keep platooning guys until Rokas Jokubaitis shows up.

DAL has made it clear they are resigning Brunson, and NY is rumored to have made an offer for Brogdon.

IND was last in revenue in '20/'21 and they'll be near the bottom again for the season that just ended. To get expirings for their two biggest contracts? They would absoutely do this, if Pacers were to get Kemba and send McConnell to MIN. That would free up MIN to get a big for PB/#48/#50.

Per Doogie, "I was texting with a high league official yesterday, eastern conference team" and [inquired about whether the Wolves were discussing trades in order to move up in the draft,] and response was "My sense right now is that the Wolves are most focused on finding a new home for D'Angelo Russell" I wonder if this is Sean Marks, who has appeared on Doogie's podcast. 3-4 minute mark of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5nHeNRUfUk

Doogie says no movement on a Capela deal and doubts anything happens. Myles Turner is on the Wolves radar. Doogie thinks Connelly may be going big game hunting, but doesn't think Wolves trade for Gobert. Doogie says Wolves have engaged the Spurs on Dejounte Murray, (10 minute mark) but doesn't think anything is imminent. Rumors that Pop retires after this season and Spurs bring in Quin Snyder to replace him. Nothing happening on discussions re Bamba as of now. Wolves have brought in 75 players for workouts.

Per Rotoworld/Woj: One day after it was reported that the Nets and Irving were working to find the middle ground in their contract negotiations, he apparently has a list of preferred destinations via sign-and-trade. The Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Heat, Mavericks, and 76ers are among the teams on Irving's list should it come to that.

KD is said to be mulling other options, should Irving leave. Sounds like Kyrie's side is using KD to pressure Nets into getting contract on Kyrie's terms.

If that's what Doogie says, then Noel is the last guy I'll be keeping an eye on. :)

Interesting and not surprising. I predict that Irving will end up with the Lakers. It will probably be an Irving/Westbrook swap and might involve another asset or two.

Per Dane Moore, "I've been saying for the past month that I've heard it is over a 50% chance that D'Angelo Russell is traded this offseason. Conversations with a few non-Timberwolves sources today suggest a Russell trade is now even more likely -- either tonight or the first week of July."
