I always think G-League stats are skewed but I would rather see these numbers than not see these numbers. Like every other Wolf ever can he hit the open 3 when he is on the roster. But I have been loving the stat lines by Nowell
Nowell didn't just become a highly efficient, accurate shooter in the G-League. That was his MO in college as well. If he's hitting open 3s in the G-League, he can hit them in the NBA. Of course, we'll never know for sure unless he gets to actually play significant minutes in the NBA. Instead of chasing max contract dreams like DLO, the Wolves organization should have Nowell in the rotation with the NBA team.
He needs a shot, but who do you take minutes from?
Teague, napier, wiggs, okogie, culver, layman, and even graham are fighting for minutes as is.
Wiggs is our only shot creator.
Teague, i think saunders is afraid to cut his minutes.
Okogie?
Culver?
Layman?
I'm actually fine with taking our time on Nowell. Let him keep gaining confidence and reps as a lead dog in the G-League for the time being. My guess is as our season continues to go further down the drain and a couple of key vets get traded away, he will get his shot in the rotation some time in the new year.
Nowell averaging 21.5 points, 50.2 FG%, and 44.2 3PT% on 7 attempts per game. It's only a matter of time before he gets his shot in the rotation. I suspect they are going to eventually trade Teague and/or RoCo and then re-look at the rotation to get him some playing time. It might be a few more weeks, but I just can't see them not working him in eventually given his skill set.

They shoukd put him now. Teams aren't even guarding okogie and Graham plus teague refuses to shoot open 3s.

I'd actually be a bit more pragmatic with Nowell and Reid. I want these guys to feel good about their performances and have it mean something, which it does, especially with Reid, who needs this more than anyone. Don't gift wrap him minutes. That's how he went from 5 star recruit to undrafted free agent.
I love that the numbers reflect how they're playing. It never seemed to be that way any time someone went down there other than Muhammad.
What a shock that Nowell can't hit jack shit in the NBA. Had he played for nearly any other franchise, he'd probably be just fine. Sigh....I know, small sample size, blah, blah, blah.
