I'll take the other side of the argument.

I walk into work and ask co workers to take on some of my responsibility, but I keep getting the big check!

Same analogy, but you walked into work as a realtor and now you're a janitor. The pay is the same, but what you do for the company is different. Enjoy!

Thinking about that, it's not really a good analogy on your part. Teague has less duties, but he hasn't been asked to do anything else or different.

Thinking about that, it's not really a good analogy on your part. Teague has less duties, but he hasn't been asked to do anything else or different.

Huh? His job is entirely different -- and one could argue it's shittier -- which is what my analogy was getting at.

Teague as a starter was being asked to orchestrate the offense and basically be the third or fourth option on the floor. Playing the bulk of your minutes with an All-NBA player, an All-Defensive First Team wing, and a guy that has All-Star talent.

Now he's going to be asked to be the number one option off the bench splitting his minutes with guys that have very limited games and some that might not even be NBA rotation players.

His role has essentially been flipped upside down.

In a league filled with high egos and "me first" attitudes, Teague deserves all the respect in the world for his professionalism. What a great teammate.

Teague is definitely a first-rate guy. I've mentioned before how he's been a great teammate, always leading cheers for his teammates from the bench, never complaining about lack of playing time and openly pushing Thibodeau to give Tyus more minutes. He's also a smart basketball guy who will likely become an NBA coach some day. I remember him calling out Thibs publicly last season for his lack of switching defense. That showed good basketball acumen, but also showed he has guts. He's not afraid to speak his mind, but he does so constructively and intelligently, not selfishly. The current regime had Teague coaching in practices this preseason, which indicates the high regard they have for his basketball IQ. I just think he's a poor fit for this team based on his style of play and his age. Having said that, I can see him fitting better as the PG leading the second unit.

I'm still an advocate for trading Teague before the deadline if we can get a good return for him. But with him being moved to the second unit, I'm more comfortable keeping him for the balance of the season. I actually think he fits well with Okogie as a second unit backcourt mate.

I think you are reading too much into this. Teague is being asked to dribble the ball up the court, and sit on the perimeter until he passes the ball off to yet another wolves player that will brick a 3. Let me know when that changes. He will still play very little defense, and when was he orchestrating an offense?

Still a very small sample size. His 2 G-league games this year were very productive as well, so may be we're onto something.

Man, if this is legit, we could slide him into the starting 4, put RoCo back at 3, and then have Culver and Wiggins in the backcourt. That eliminates the human brick Graham from the rotation and provides a lot more length across the board. We can keep switching everything too.

It's more like Teague working for a company and directly going to the CEO and telling them to take away his manager position and give it to another guy who gets an opportunity they may otherwise not have. Sure he still gets his money but not many people would do that and not many places have guaranteed deals Regardless of performance like he does...well sole executives have something pretty similar but...yeah.
