Didn't they come out and say that was misreported? Can't believe I know that. Clearly have too much time on my hands.

Twitter might actually be the appropriate place for gossipy news like that, but yeah, here's a legit source.

EDIT: Then again, given your username, shouldn't you have seen this one coming?

Is that an absolute necessity? Yeah, the Culver thing has gone bad, but Jerry West once gave Brian Cardinal a 5yr full mid level after exactly one good season, so it happens. KAT/DLO/MB have played like zero games together (unless you are disappointed in the due diligence MIN did with MB, then good point). I still think the best thing to come from this is the cheating.

Why do we call Wolves GM's "POBO"? Isn't operations a strong word? How about coincidence or happenstance?

And why aren't Hockey GM's called "POHO's"?

I'm not impressed by Rosas thus far. But I'll admit he's a bit of a mixed bag. Here's my list of the good, bad and ugly so far during his tenure:

Good:

1. Signing Naz Reid and JMac as undrafted free agents
2. Drafting Edwards at #1. (I had my doubts, but I'm seen enough to see this move as a good one)
3. Drafting McDaniels at #27 (Had my doubts about this too, but I'm convinced it was a good one)
4. Drafting Nowell in 2nd round (Loved this pick when made and still love it)
5. Trading for Beasley and signing him to a reasonable contract
6. Hiring Finch (It's early and it was late in the game, but I'll credit him for making the move)

Bad and Ugly:

1. Drafting Culver
2. Trading up for Garland w/out knowing he could get him then settling for Culver
3. Trading for DLO (gave up way too much for a player of dubious value on a max deal)
4. Re-signing Juancho
5. Paying Juancho $7M per year for 2 years
6. Trading for Rubio rather than using assets and salary for better players and better fits
7. Hiring Ryan Saunders as head coach
8. Trading for Beasley when simultaneously trading for another poor defender, DLO
9. Results - 2 seasons in a row finishing in the bottom three

My immediate reaction to this news was "WTF???", but I'm starting to come around a bit. I'm still skeptical and really wonder what their plan is. ARod buying apartment complexes in MPLS is interesting at least and if he's going to invest in the city I'd feel a lot better in this move. Having some national star power in the ownership group is definitely intriguing too. If Lore becomes a Cuban like owner along with ARod and they really are invested in this city and team, then sure sign me up. I personally don't get all the KG hate, but I really just hope the new group can get him involved in the franchise again. I was pulling for him to be part of the next ownership group and never expected him to be the guy or shot caller anyway.

Here's an excerpt from an interesting article about Lore:

Marc Lore, a serial entrepreneur who sold his startup Jet.com to Walmart for $3 billion and then oversaw the transformation of the retail giant's e-commerce business over the last four years, is leaving his full-time role with the company at the end of the month, he told Recode.

His next big entrepreneurial swing will be something far afield from his current expertise: a multi-decade project to build "a city of the future" supported by "a reformed version of capitalism."

"It's a new model for society we'll be testing," he teased.

Lore declined to offer more details, but said he would be prepared to reveal additional information in the coming months. Some who have heard of the project say one focus will be on giving everyday citizens direct economic upside in the city's growth.

"Imagine a city with the vibrancy, diversity and culture of New York City combined with the efficiency, safety and innovation of Tokyo and the sustainability, governance, and social services of Sweden," reads the vision statement for the project. "This will be our New City."

"This is going to be a lifelong project," he added. "It's the thing I'm most passionate about."

The entrepreneur and executive said he also plans to spend more time on philanthropy, advising startups, and serving on public company boards, while also writing a book and working on developing a TV show. He said he has ideas for new startups he wanted to pursue as well, but made clear he had no intention of running them as CEO.

Lore's departure comes nearly four and a half years after Walmart made its then-biggest acquisition, spending $3.3 billion in 2016 to purchase the shopping website Jet.com that he ran and launched just 15 months earlier.

The move was a bold bet for Walmart CEO Doug McMillon, who did so mainly to hire Lore and his executive team. McMillon hoped that Walmart could close the enormous gap in online sales between the legacy retailer and Amazon, while signaling to talent in the technology industry -- and to Wall Street investors -- that Walmart was finally serious about reinventing itself for the future of shopping that Jeff Bezos's tech giant was creating.

I wonder if he plans to eventually move the Wolves to his new city of the future. :). Or maybe he'll remake Minneapolis into that city of the future.
