If he doesn't remain in the rotation and play 25 minutes a night it's complete insanity to me. He's a bit raw offensively, but has shown surprising refinement in some areas. His ability to grab and go is the best on the team. Jim Pete pointed it last night, the cross over dribble in the open court to get to the rim was really really nice.
He is without question our best perimeter defender right now. It's amazing how he avoids screeners and his able to stay in front of his man, his rebounding his excellent also. They were running PnRs away from him at the end of the game last night. It would be malpractice if Tibs doesn't play him, but that wouldn't surprise me either.
I am 95% sure he will stay in the rotation. Whether it's 25MPG with a fully healthy squad is another question. As much as Thibs gets flack sometimes for not playing younger players, he has shown the propensity to play defensive/grinder types (Kris Dunn was raw too, but he was in the rotation). Okogie has kind of proved his mettle here to the point where I don't think Thibs leaves him out anymore.
I think you're right, Q. But we'll see. I guess Dunn was in the rotation, but he only averaged 17 minutes per game. Ultimately, his minutes will depend on who we end up getting for Butler. But I think it would be unfortunate if Okogie were to end up getting less than 25 minutes per game.
