The Rockets have played 4 less games than Minnesota. That means at some point their schedule gets game heavy, which could add some difficulties.FNG wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:15 am I read something today that made me not feel as confident about our 2-game lead over Houston. They have played only 13 games at home where they are 11-2, and 23 on the road where they are 11-12. If they continue with the same home and away winning percentages, they will finish with 54 wins. Suddenly our prospects to finish ahead of the Rockets don't seem so rosy.

Yep, starting with this Friday when they have to play a rested Wolves team after playing the Thunder the night before. That's the first of 10 back to backs they have the rest of the season...and they're 0-3 this season on the second night of back to backs!Phenom wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:48 pmThe Rockets have played 4 less games than Minnesota. Also, how long can Kevin Durant hold up? He's played in 35 out of 37 games and averaging 36MPG. Given his injury history and age, either he's going to get dinged up here soon or Houston may rest him in some of those back-to-backs, which in turn would reduce their chances of winning those games.FNG wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 7:13 amYep, starting with this Friday when they have to play a rested Wolves team after playing the Thunder the night before. Well, now we know who to blame of the Wolves provide their first win on the second of a B2B!

The Suns continue their surprising play and are now just 1/2 game out of 6th. Do we need to start talking about the top 7? Let's see how they do in Detroit tonight.
Law Murray periodically does his NBA power ratings, and the Wolves made the biggest jump since his last rating... going from 9th to 5th. He now has them in the top tier (Top Contenders) for the first time all season, joining OkC, Detroit, Denver and the Spurs. Nice company to be in.

Wemby goes to the locker room after 3 minutes with a knee injury. Hate to see him lose more time, but wouldn't mind him missing the game Saturday.
False alarm: he's back in the game.

Re: The top 6 in the West
We just got some additional breathing room from the 7th seed/play-in with Phoenix losing. We're now three games ahead of them. Greyson Allen took....gulp....20 three-pointers!
OKC appears to have resumed their dominant ways after a mid-season swoon, kicking Houston's butt in Houston. The Rockets continue to teeter a bit. Good!

Re: The top 6 in the West
Ant out for a second consecutive game tomorrow night against the Rockets. Rockets' starters played a lot of minutes tonight against OkC and we get Rudy back, so I'm not conceding this one.
