I'm with khans. I take embiid 100/100 times if there are no injury concerns. Post offense, mid range , rebounding, passing, defender. The guy was the complete package with only 4 or so years of playing ball. Towns 2nd, Okafor 3rd.
One of the problems if we traded our pick to Philly for Embiid, is that Philly has the information edge. If Philly is willing to give up Embiid, then I think there are more red flags than what we know. The upcoming draft will be pretty good in the range we can be expected to pick so I don't want damaged goods. Our record taking damages goods is pretty terrible. I am excited with the potential to add a Towns or Okafur and if we miss out on them there should be some other very good players that we can choose from.

He doesn't have the array of post moves that Okafor does, but Embiid is bigger and more athletic around the rim and demanded just as many double teams even though he's not as much of a prolific scorer. Embiid also showed a great touch with his shot that Okafor doesn't have. Embiid was also just as much a defensive force as Towns. On top of all of that Embiid was a very raw player who wasn't expected to be able to do as much as he did in college so I think he has a much higher ceiling than either Okafor or Towns. Embiid was a better prospect than Wiggins and Parker. The injuries just made him a risk that Cleveland and Milwaukee didn't want to chance. The comparisons to Hakeem weren't made lightly.
I agree with this. Embiid's quickness looks impossible to spot. His defensive prowess was incredible. The paint was a no go zone. I take him over both Okafor and Towns if all healthy. I still have an open mind on Towns. I have Okafor figured as a tremendous back to the basket scorer who can get a good amount of rebounds. Pretty bad defensively and has no face up game.

From an injury standpoint he would have to pass a physical for the trade to go through so that wouldn't be a worry from me. After that you just have to trust your organization. We brought in KG. We have his former teammate Wiggins. Maybe he doesn't like Philly because they could literally care less about winning right now and some players could find that to be unprofessional in an organization. I've said it before but there's just not much of a reason for him to give a shit right now because they won't play him even if he gets healthy. Not every player is going to be the perfect professional. That's a dumb reason in my mind to not get someone. We could have had Cousins if we could have overlooked his attitude issues and it turns out the guy is pretty damn loyal to a joke of a franchise.

Very good point.
I would go Russell over everybody in this draft.
I can't agree with this take at all. Think Russell's closer to being 4th on my board instead of 1st.

That's fine. To me Russell is so skilled offensively and I love the fact he leads his team in almost every category.
All this Embiid talk is somewhat irrelevant, though. Flip would take Towns and Okafor before even thinking about trading for Embiid. And I know this debate is "who would you take if injuries didn't happen", but that's not reality and Embiid has multiple red flags in that department.

It's very plausible they get 1 and take Okafor and we land in a spot to get Mudiay and they be willing to trade Noel or Embiid for Mudiay.

I have zero doubt that in that situation, Philly would LOVE to move Noel or Embiid for Mudiay. It's just a poor trade for us and I have faith that Flip would know that. Noel's overrated to no end and Embiid's potential is hampered by injury concerns as well as his lackadaisical work ethic. No thanks to either one.
